"I know she's pregnant. That's why I'm asking." Sugga planted one hand on her hip like that should've been obvious.
"I know. I did that."
Sol covered her mouth, but I still heard the laugh that escaped.
Sugga stared at me in disgust. "Roman Devereaux, you are disgusting."
"I'm stating a biological fact."
"Nobody asked you!" Sugga shot back, waving me off.
Halo suddenly repeated, "Fact!"
We all went quiet.
Sol's eyes widened before she started laughing, one hand moving to her stomach.
Sugga tried not to.
Failed.
And within seconds, everybody was laughing—including Halo, who had no idea what she'd said but laughed even harder because we were.
I looked around at them.
This was what my house sounded like now.
Noise.
Laughter.
Somebody fussing.
A toddler yelling.
My mama showing up whenever the hell she felt like it.
My wife threatening me at least twice a day.
I wouldn't trade it for silence.

By the time we pulled up to Soul Haven, Kai and Zari were already there.
Together.
Again.
I parked and looked through the windshield at my brother standing beside Zari while she fixed his collar. Kai stood there grinning down at her while she fussed with the fabric, and the whole scene looked a little too comfortable for two people who kept claiming they weren't doing shit.
Interesting.
Sol followed my eyes.
"Ohhh." She leaned forward slightly, looking through the windshield with a growing smile.
"Don't," I warned, already knowing where she was going.
