"They came together." Her voice carried entirely too much excitement.
"Apparently."
She turned toward me. "You think they're—"
"I mind my business."
Sol slowly turned toward me, one eyebrow lifting. "Since when?"
"Since my brother started dealing with your crazy-ass best friend."
She smacked my arm. "Stop calling her crazy."
I laughed and caught her hand before she could hit me again.
Truth was, I didn't know what the hell Kai and Zari were doing.
One day they claimed they couldn't stand each other.
The next day she was in his truck.
Kai swore he wasn't chasing her, but somehow knew her coffee order, her schedule, and damn near everything she liked.
They were both loud, stubborn, sarcastic, and slightly crazy.
Whatever the hell they were becoming, they fit.
And I was leaving that shit alone.
My eyes shifted past them toward the building.
Then everything else disappeared.
Gold letters stretched across the front.
**THE SOUL HAVEN FOUNDATION**
Beside me, Sol went quiet.
I looked over.
Her hand rested over her stomach, and her eyes had already filled with tears. She stared through the windshield without saying anything, her lips parting slightly as she took in the building.
"Baby." I reached across the console and touched her hand.
She blinked and finally looked at me. "I'm okay."
"I know." I intertwined my fingers with hers.
Her eyes returned to the building. "I can't believe this is mine."
I reached across the console and took her hand. "You did this."
"We did," she corrected quietly, squeezing my fingers.
"No." I squeezed her fingers back. "I helped pay for it. You did this."
A tear slipped down her cheek.
