When I told him that, he came back with a lame excuse about jostling the baby around, so I told him I would just use my vibrator for the rest of the pregnancy and that Purple Rain was better than his dick anyway.
Needless to say, that didn’t go over well.
“Because you want to,” I taunt. “You want it just as much as I do.”
He lets out a throaty chuckle. “Maybe, but I guess I’ll just have to wait until you say you’re sorry and that my cock is better than a toy.”
I roll my eyes, which turns out to be the worst possible response. “You know what?” He reaches into my nightstand drawer and pulls out the lavender wand. “Why don’t we let Purple Rain join us? Since you love him so much.”
If I actually thought Nate was jealous of a vibrator, I would probably get the ick, but I’ve known him long enough to know that he's using it as an excuse to play the games we both love so much.
He switches the toy on, tracing slow circles along my inner thigh. It’s close enough that I can almost feel phantom vibrations right where I want them. When he reaches the edge of my clit, I finally cave.
“Okay, okay. I’m sorry. Your dick is so much better than Purple Rain. Just, please, for the love of God, fuck me already.”
He smirks, clicks the vibrator off, and tosses it onto the floor before stripping in record time. “Was that so hard?”
“Just get inside me,” I snap.
Nate clicks his tongue. “Uh-uh. Do you get to make demands?”
“No,” I sigh.
“Then be a good girl and wait.”
I bat my eyes, wrapping my legs around his waist. “Please, Nate. I’ll be so good. Just please fuck me.”
Finally, he puts me out of my misery. I’m so wet, there’s barely any resistance, but I still feel the delicious stretch. After all the teasing, it doesn’t take long before we're both unraveling. He covers my mouth with his hand, so I can't scream as he grunts out his release.
“See?” I say as soon as we both catch our breath. “I didn’t break.” I guide his hand over my bump. I’m about six months along, but I started showing much earlier this time. “And he’s fine.”
Nate’s expression shifts as soon as he feels the tiny kicks. We both regret everything he missed out on the first time, so I make sure to include him in every milestone.
“I don't think I’ll ever get used to that,” he says.
“Me either.”
“We should get ready. Daisy will be awake soon.”
Of course, Nate chose the moment my eyes opened this morning to dole out his little punishment, but given that I took a while to finally relent, it’s almost time for us to go.
“You’re right. We can’t be late for the baby bloom.”
Nate rubs a hand over his mouth, clearly trying to hide a smile as he steps into his boxer briefs and reaches for a pair of jeans.
“What?”
“I still don't understand. Why is it a bloom and not just a baby shower?
I laugh, pulling a flowy maternity dress over my head before turning around so he can zip it. “I don’t know. Grace came up with it. Something about all of us having been through too many storms and how it symbolizes new beginnings.”
He slides the zipper all the way up, grazing my spine with his knuckles before pressing a soft kiss to the back of my neck. “Sounds like Grace.”
I slip on a pair of flats before waddling over to the bathroom mirror to do my makeup. Nate has only met her once. We realized she lives in the same tiny town in Maine as River, of all people. They apparently even went to the same high school after her family moved from Baybridge, though she’s a few years older than him. We took Daisy on a road trip a few months ago to visit them both.
“Be nice.” I shoot him a look in the mirror as I swipe on a layer of mascara.
He buttons the cuffs of his navy shirt. “I’m always nice.”
