Epilogue

Mina stood on the porch of the guest cabin at Silverlake, anxiously smoothing her hair, hesitating to knock on the door. It was silly to be nervous, she told herself. She was a badass wolf now.

So much had happened in the month since she’d first learned Brock was a shifter. Moving to Silverlake. Working with the healers there to discover more about shifters, their physiology and their magic. Learning to control her wolf. Helping the healers figure out ways to help Tristan.

Donnie had applied to the Wolf Council for some land over on the next mountain, to start his own pack with some of his friends and allies from Nashville. The part of the pack that was staying in Nashville finally had an alpha, one of Nash Jenkins’ least objectionable sons, Timber. As restitution for Tyrone’s attack on Flynn and his people, Jesse had arranged for the Nashville pack to officially buy Flynn’s territory from Alexander Grant’s real estate holding company and gift it to Flynn and his crew, along with funds to repair the damages and make improvements.

All of her new friends were safe, with a chance at a new start.

And right now, Noah was waiting for her inside the house.

The thought of Noah made her lady parts do a happy dance. They’d barely been separated since that night in the Tennessee woods when he’d Turned her. He’d helped her with her first changes as a wolf, and taken her on dates as his mate.

It wasn’t like she didn’t see him every day.

But he’d told her this was a special occasion, and then disappeared for the whole day, getting things ready.

Which was why she was nervous. Whatever he’d planned, she wanted it to be perfect for him. Nothing made her happier than seeing Noah smile.

She smoothed her hair once more and knocked on the door.

Noah opened it almost instantly. He looked mouth-wateringly gorgeous in a teal blue button-down shirt that made his eyes look the exact same color. His jeans clung to his lean hips, and the yummy package was filling out the front of them like they’d been tailored to show it off.

“Hey there, sexy,” Mina said, leaning against the doorframe. “I heard there was a hot wolf party here tonight.”

Noah’s eyes started dancing. “It’s a private party,” he said. “Do you have the password?”

Mina reached up and slid her arms around his neck. She kissed him slowly, relishing the taste of him, and then moved her lips to his ear, nibbled his earlobe and whispered, “Chocolate pussy.”

Noah made the sexy growling sound she loved so much. “Holy moly, woman, you just gave me a boner.”

“I can’t imagine that was my fault,” she said innocently. “You seem to have them constantly.”

“When you’re around, I do.”

He backed up, pulling her inside with him, then bent his head and kissed her again. Longer. Deeper. Holy hell, that man could kiss.

“You look beautiful,” he said, when they came up for air. “I like your outfit.”

“You’ve barely looked at it,” she said. “Admit it, you just want to take it off me.”

“Completely false,” he said. “I have many things planned before that happens.”

He stepped aside, and she could finally see the interior of the cabin.

It was filled with peach-colored roses.

Mina stopped, her hand to her mouth. “Oh my goodness,” she said. “There’s like, a gazillion dollars’ worth of roses here. How could you even afford them?”

Noah looked uncertain. “Is it overkill?”

She shook her head and threw her arms around him. “It’s beautiful. I want to wrap my arms around them and smell them all, and then I want to roll around in them naked.” She stopped. “Except, that would crush them.”

“And there would be thorns,” Noah added. “But you naked in the roses is a good visual. I’m keeping it for sometime when you’re not around and all I have is Mr. Hand.”

Mina giggled. “So what do you have planned?” she asked him. “Is there chocolate involved?”

“Later,” he said. “But I have a list, and things have to be done in a certain order.”
