She took a sharp breath, as if surprised, and then smiled. “I thought we were the sex dungeon duo.”

Emon laughed. “That thought should terrify me, but somehow it makes me happy.”

She wrapped her arms around his neck. “Really? How happy? Like, boner-happy?”

“Definitely.” He took her hand and put it on his crotch, where his dick had woken up and gotten interested when it heard the words ‘sex dungeon.’ “That’s total happiness, right there.”

Trish rose up and straddled his thighs, facing him. She put his hand on her chest, over her heart. “Right here,” she whispered, and leaned in and pressed her lips to his.

And he was inside her heart. All the feelings that had descended on him last night, that he’d tried to escape and shove away—here they all were. She’d been keeping them for him, holding them safe. All his feelings and all of hers—her sadness, and her pain, her loneliness and her hope.

That maybe someday someone would love her, and she’d feel whole.

He cupped the back of her neck with one hand and wrapped the other around her waist, deepening the kiss, trying to talk without words.

I’m here for you. As long as I’m around, my home is your safe place.

She gave a little sigh and parted her lips, giving him all of her sweetness and fire. And her hope. The crack in his heart stayed open. She’d broken him, but somehow, this time, it didn’t hurt.

Chapter 27

It seemed like the kiss lasted forever, a moment outside of time. That fiery place in the middle of Trish’s chest grew and expanded, like the sun coming up and warming the earth, chasing away the darkness.

And for that moment, she didn’t feel broken, or split in two, or inadequate, or lonely.

She felt perfect.

Emon ran his fingers through her hair, wrapping it around his fist. “I love your hair,” he murmured. “It was the very first thing I noticed about you. The night of the storm.”

She pulled back, resting her arms on his shoulders. “You saw me in the storm?”

“Yeah.” He let the hair drop down her back, smoothing it carefully. “I looked down, and there you were in the courtyard. Shining like a star, with your hair catching the light.” He kissed her lips, and her cheekbone, and the side of her neck. “I already kind of knew I was done for, right then. My dragon and I were pretty much obsessed with you.”

“Really.” That pleased her. “So you came right inside and offered me your sex dungeon.”

“Never let it be said I don’t know how to impress a woman.” He slid his hands around her waist, under her shirt. “Are you still cold?”

“No.” She was warm, hot, melting where their bodies touched.

“Good.” And then her shirt was gone, and he was ravishing her body, just with his mouth and hands. He seemed to love to kiss her, kiss her everywhere, setting tiny flames running along her skin and tasting the hollows of her neck with his tongue.

Then he pulled her hips tighter against him, pressing his hard swollen shaft against her sweet spot through her pants, rolling his hips to send waves of pleasure through her core.

He ducked his head to kiss her breasts, lifting them one after the other in his hand to tease her nipples with his teeth and his tongue.

All her nerve endings were on fire, and she needed his skin, needed nothing between them. She grabbed the neck of his t-shirt and ripped it right off him. She felt him smile, his lips against the hollow of her shoulder.

“Bad wolf,” he murmured. “I sure do love me some bad wolf.”

He loved her.

Trish wrapped her arms around his neck, pressing against him skin to skin, feeling the fire building inside both of them. “I sure do love me some serial-killer dragon.”

He captured her lips, a deep hard kiss, claiming her with lips and tongue, biting softly at her lower lip before kissing her deeply again. He held her to him so hard she felt like he was trying to fit inside her skin, touch all of her.

She wanted all of him.

“I want you naked,” she whispered against his ear. “Make me naked.”
