Let me in!

She fought off another talon attack. I don’t know how!

Yes you do. Open to the bond. Let me in.

And she did know.

Blue fire blossomed from her chest and ran down their connection like a lit fuse. It cannoned into him, and he was inside.

Talons reached down on them from above, but Colt and Callie glowed with the power of their bond, and neither of them were afraid anymore.

Come on, Colt said. Let’s fuck this bitch up.

He turned human and took her hand, and they sent the magic of their bond out in all directions like a weapon.

The dome exploded, and the magical talons burst into blue flames.

Chapter 30

Callie felt like an enormous hand had slammed her back into her body. Her eyes snapped open, and she gasped in a huge gulp of air. Blood trickled out of her nose.

But the evil crow queen’s talons were no longer in her head.

Rohene staggered to her knees, her dark eyes focused on nothing. Her minion grabbed her before she could sink to the ground.

“My lady! My lady, are you all right?”

No, sucker, she is not all right, Callie thought. My mate and I blasted her little mind-talons right out of the spirit world. Yes, we rock.

She hoped they’d fried her brain.

Now she just had to figure out how the hell to get out of this chair. She started working at the bonds.

At that moment, there was a muffled explosion, and the corridor wall just outside the room collapsed, bursting the door open.

Brandon and Kitty were through the opening first, armed with—were those machine guns? Brandon’s was. She didn’t even know what the hell Kitty was holding—only that it looked very big and very deadly.

Titan barreled in next, also armed but not caring.

He slammed his enormous fist into the side of the crow minion’s head before he could react, and the man dropped. Titan wrapped one arm around Rohene’s neck, immobilizing her.

Colt came in next, assault rifle across his back, looking like he’d been through the wringer. His nose was bleeding too. They matched.

That was cute. Wow, okay. She was still drugged up pretty bad. And she was pretty sure when she came down she was going to have a splitting headache.

Colt’s face lit up when he saw Callie. He raced over and put his arm around her, his forehead touching hers. “Are you okay?” He pulled out a knife and cut her free.

“Of course I am,” she said. “My heroes came and saved me.”

Colt shook his head. “You fought back. You fought back all on your own.”

“Yeah. But I still couldn’t have done it without you.”

She looked over his shoulder. They were all there. Her mate. Her crew. Beyond Colt she could see Remy, his arm bound up, and Jason behind him. She met Remy’s eyes, and he half-smiled. Then she looked at Jason. “Thank you,” she mouthed.

He nodded.

Brandon said, “We need to get moving.”
