Tyr raised an eyebrow. “You don’t know?”
“We don’t even know his name. Good kid, though.”
“Yeah,” Tyr said slowly. “I wouldn’t have found you here without him.” He looked thoughtful.
They transitioned back to the human world, returning to their bodies, and drove home. Titan half-expected that Jax and his crew would have stolen their trucks, but apparently he and his soldiers were long gone.
Titan didn’t exactly wish them well, but he hoped they could make a better life for their families. And not raise their cubs to be psychos.
Mari felt like champagne was fizzing in her veins. She was okay. Better than that—against all hope and all the odds, she was healed. She was free.
She had a mate, and a claiming mark, and a crew, and absolutely no demon tumor in her brain. Tyr had confirmed it while Brandon and the guys were barbecuing an enormous dinner.
She and Titan stayed late at the main house, just enjoying being with their crew. There would be time enough for them to be alone later.
But finally he tugged her to her feet, and they started making their goodbyes. Mari had had a lot of Mermaid Punch and needed to hug absolutely everyone before she went up to the cabin.
But she couldn’t find Colt and Remy.
“Who knows what they’re up to,” Titan said. “Don’t worry about it. They’ll still be here tomorrow.” He steered her outside and they started across the yard.
“But I’m so happy! I need hugs.” She hugged his arm instead. “It was the most incredible day. And now we get to live happily ever after. The bear god said.”
Titan snorted. “Yeah. And only you would pat a freakin’ god on the leg and tell him he did a good job, like he was five years old. You’re lucky he didn’t freeze you into an ice pop and eat you.”
Mari giggled. “Nuh-uh. He likes me. I’m fucking irresistible.”
Titan stopped on the path and scooped her up, backing her against a tree. He had his hands under her ass and heat burning in his eyes.
“Yes, you are,” he murmured. She smiled back at him, and brought her face to his for a slow, sweet kiss. Her legs were locked around his waist, and she could feel him getting hard, pressing against her.
Little lightning bolts quivered up and down her arms and into her core. She would never get enough of this man.
“I am so, so lucky that I found you,” she whispered.
“I’m the lucky one.” He kissed her again, and then let her slide to the ground, tucking her under his arm as they walked the rest of the way up the path.
As they approached the cabin, Mari could see light flickering in the windows. She stopped. They hadn’t left any lights on. Suddenly the absence of Colt and Remy made a suspicious kind of sense.
“We’re not coming home to a cabin full of dancing dildoes, are we?”
Titan gave a deep chuckle, sounding almost like the bear god. She loved to hear him laugh. Maybe now he would do it more often.
“Just watch where you step,” he said. “Keep a lookout for unicorn poop.”
But there was no unicorn poop. Instead, when they got inside, there was a trail of rubber duckies leading up the steps, each one with a chocolate kiss on his back.
Mari felt her insides turning to moosh. “You got the guys to do this, didn’t you?” she said to Titan.
“I might have suggested something.”
“You are the most romantic bear. Probably more romantic even than the polar bear god.”
“I really do not want to see a god getting romantic.”
Mari was already going up the stairs, collecting her kisses. Dark chocolate—her favorite. “According to my count, I get seventeen kisses.”
Titan was right behind her. “How many do I get?”
