“What the fuck happened?” he asks, seeing the girls.

“I know you have plans, but do you mind driving them home? I wasn’t planning on drinking but they brought fucking moonshine.” I can’t tell if he’s upset by this or if he enjoyed it, but it explains how very drunk the girls are.

I’ve been standing back, but Owen looks to me apologetically and I nod before he helps the guys get the girls in the car.

They let me have shotgun, then Mike volunteers to walk home when he’s ready, while Colt sits with the girls in the back.

I would have offered to drive Colt’s car home, so Mike wouldn’t have to walk, or offered to be the one who braves the cold…but as much as I am determined to truly trust them, for real…I’m not about to just let three guys drive off with two incapacitated women.

“Are we going to the hockey house?” Brittany asks once we’re driving.

“Nope, we’re taking you home,” Colt tells her.

I look in the mirror and see he’s glued himself to the door behind me, and keeps removing Brittany’s hand from his thigh.

“Sleepover!” Sabrina exclaims, then proceeds to fall asleep against the other door.

“I’m sorry,” Owen tells me.

“Are you not excited for the sleepover?” I ask him like this is a fun adventure.

He laughs and brings my hand to his lips for a kiss, then keeps it in his on the console.

“Aw, that’s so cute,” Brittany tells us, trying to do the same with Colt. He allows it, but only when their hands stay on his knee, which is not what she has in mind.

“Where do you live, Brittany?” Owen asks once we get to the dorms.

She snores in response.

“Brit…” Colt tries to wake her, but she pushes him away and cuddles into Sabrina.

“Does she have a purse?” Owen suggests.

“I don’t feel comfortable going through her things when she’s…like this.”

“And we’d have to find their keys.” Owen sighs. “I’m sorry babe,” he tells me.

“What’s happening?”

“We’re going back to Ivy. It’s probably best to have someone keep an eye on them.”

“She wanted a sleepover.” Colt sighs.

“I can drive you home first,” Owen offers.

“And miss out on all this fun?” I tease. Owen smiles, but I think he knows why I can’t let that happen.

Once we get to Ivy, they give me the keys so I can unlock the door while Owen and Colt each take one of the sleeping girls, as well as their purses and phones.

“The handle goes up,” Owen tells me when they reach the porch and I’m still working on it.

“You gotta invite her over more often if she doesn’t know that yet,” Colt nudges him.

“She’s always invited, I just like to be with her.”

“Everything okay?” Bree asks, having just pulled into her driveway.

“They passed out before telling us where they live, so we’re going to let them sleep it off a bit,” Owen explains.
