I smile down at her and continue my assault. Her walls clamp around my fingers like I knew they would. She digs her fingernails into my shoulder, creating crescent moons over my skin. I take one of her nipples in my mouth, circling it with my tongue before sucking it completely into my mouth.

“Bas, I’m—”

“I know, baby. Show me how good I make you feel.”

I time it perfectly; just as she’s about to release, I sink my fangs into her once more. And that shoves her off the edge. She rides out her climax, working over my fingers like it’s the most natural thing in the world.

I release her, pulling my fangs and fingers out before her half-hooded eyes meet mine. I wish I had my phone nearby to take a picture—post-orgasm Alicent is a fucking masterpiece.

I bring my fingers soaked in her release between us. “Look at the mess you’ve made.” I don’t break eye contact as I suck my fingers clean. Nearly combusting in my pants as the mixture of her arousal and blood dance on my tongue.

Her eyes move to my cock that’s making itself abundantly present. I scowl. “Don’t even think about it.”

“Just a taste?” Fuck, this woman is going to be the death of me.

Climbing off the bed, I ignore her huff of annoyance and start running her a bath. The glare she’s searing into the side of my skull isn’t going unnoticed. Or the dirty thoughts she’s screaming at me to try and break my resolve.

Pulling clothes out of her drawer, I have a thought to forget her underwear, but that might just encourage this behavior. And I’m afraid I can only be so strong. My brows pull together when my fingers brush against something hard resting at the bottom of the drawer. A piece of glass that holds centuries of magic and secrets, encased in intricate gold, a mirror I haven’t seen in a very long time.

What is she doing with this? How did she get it? Unanswered questions rattle inside my skull—it simply doesn’t make sense.

Turning around to face her, I can’t hide the emotions written over my face. “Hiding something from us, spawn?” She goes deathly white, and I can hear her battle internally to keep the answer hidden.

She gulps, and I don’t miss the way her fingers instantly start picking at her cuticles. “I think it’s time we all have a conversation.”

I text the guys to let them know their presence is needed.

Bastian: head up to my room

Koen: Coming.

Elias: fivesome already? ;)

Pryce replies to Koen: You will be soon enough ;)

Bastian: as much fun as that sounds…we all need to talk. Now. Per our little witch...

Elias: already in the doghouse, Bas?

Pryce: I’ll make it up to her when she’s in my bed tomorrow...

I lock my phone, pacing the length of my living room too many times to count. Alicent sits on the couch, legs crossed under her, while guilty thoughts threaten to pull her under.

“Can you please just sit down?”

“No.” It’s more clipped than I intend, but I’m pissed. Is it irrational? Probably, but I thought we were done with the secrets. I never liked keeping all this from her, but Eryx made valid points. It killed me inside to see her struggle the way she did when she found out, and now that everything is out in the open, she has to ruin it with more fucking lies.

The small sliver of rationality creeps in like an unwanted guest, screaming at me that I’m being overdramatic.

And maybe that small part of me is right.

I let out a heavy sigh, one weighed down with all the mixed emotions flooding my system. Alicent picks at her fingers, breaking the skin over and over again, and I’m surprised it has time to grow back. I settle in next to her, closing my hands over hers, and she stops instantly.

Normally I don’t let my emotions spin so out of control—at least not in this way. But it hurts more than I would ever care to admit.

My door swings open, Elias nearly sprinting in, his eyes instantly finding Alicent like a heat seeking missile. Pryce and Koen enter next, Koen tossing her a wink before demanding to know why they’ve been summoned. “What’s the emergency?”

“Emergency is a stretch, Koen,” Elias says, not taking his eyes off Alicent like he’ll be able to figure it out just by staring.
