‘Good,’ he said. ‘If you like, we can work on your popular culture homework by having a movie marathon. Seeing as I disrupted your Friday night plans, it’s only fair that I make it up to you.’

My hand stopped halfway to the cup of coffee.

Is he for real?

He thought that because I’d traded a night in my crappy house share for coming to see him in his multi-gazillion-pound penthouse where he fucked me senseless, gave me multiple orgasms, then fed me the best takeaway I’d eaten in my life that he needed to make it up to me?

Wild.

‘You’ve already made it up to me a million times over! Not that you needed to because I was happy to come, in more ways than one…’ I grinned. ‘But a movie marathon sounds amazing, thank you!’

‘I should be finished in about an hour,’ Blake said.

‘Perfect. I’ll eat then shower. But if you need more time—’

‘I’ll let you know,’ he jumped in, then left the room.

Of course he would.

By the time I’d devoured brunch, showered and picked out another one of Blake’s T-shirts to wear, it was almost 1 p.m.

I brought the fabric to my nose and inhaled. It smelt of fresh linen and my skin was scented with Blake’s delicious woody shower gel. I should’ve brought an empty plastic bottle to take some home to use whenever I wanted to feel close to him.

Don’t get attached.

He’s still your boss.

And this is still just sex.

No matter how kind he’s been.

‘I’ll be done in five minutes.’ Blake stood at the dressing room door. ‘Meet me in the living room.’

‘Okay!’

He disappeared again.

Once I’d loaded the dishwasher, I headed to the living room.

My breath caught in my throat.

I couldn’t believe my eyes.

There was a humungous cinema screen and a popcorn machine.

A gazillion cushions and blankets had been added to the sofa.

And when I spotted what was laid out on the coffee table, my eyes popped.

Blake had bought me Percy Pig sweets. And not just the original flavour. There was every version, including the You Give Me Butterflies pack I’d mentioned yesterday. He’d even got the biscuits, which I’d never tried before, and a Percy Pig mug.

‘Ready?’ Blake strode into the room.

‘You got me Percy Pig goodies!’ I raced over and threw my arms around him, before pulling back quickly in case it was too much.

‘Yes. I drew the line at buying the fruit juice and paper plates though. I prefer drinking champagne and using proper crockery.’ His mouth twitched.

‘I wouldn’t expect anything less!’ I smiled. ‘Seriously though, this is so impressive. Did you hire the popcorn machine and screen?’
