‘Very sus!’ Oscar said.

‘Then there’s the regular trips to Marbs,’ Seb offered.

‘Good point.’ Heath nodded. ‘He went a whole year without visiting his villa once. Now he’s there multiple times a month.’

‘Are you fucking tracking me?’ My nostrils flared.

‘Hello?’ Heath said. ‘I’m the head of finance. I see the jet’s expenses. It’s literally my job to track where the money’s going.’

‘Wait, what?’ Oscar rubbed the back of his neck. ‘You monitor all the expenses? Personally?’

‘Not all of them. That’s what my team are there for. But I like to keep an eye on the big expenses and Blake’s had a lot more than usual recently.’ Heath said and Oscar’s shoulders loosened. The bastard had probably been putting gifts and hotel stays with his fuckbuddies on his expenses.

‘Interesting…’ Seb said.

‘Anyway, what’s the big deal, B?’ Oscar asked me. ‘Why don’t you want us to meet her? Are you ashamed of us? Is she some stuck up princess who disapproves of our business?’

‘She’s not like that!’ I snapped before realising I’d put my foot in it.

‘So there is someone!’ Seb grinned.

‘Knew it!’ Oscar high-fived Seb.

‘We’re happy for you,’ Heath added. ‘So when do we get to meet her?’

‘We’ll announce our relationship when the time’s right,’ I said diplomatically.

Clearly, I couldn’t tell them they’d already met her. Multiple times.

I couldn’t even say we were taking things slow because that wasn’t true either. If they knew I’d asked Ellie to move in with me after we’d only been together for a couple of weeks, they’d think I’d completely lost the plot.

But that cliché was true.

When you know, you know.

Despite the age gap, boss-employee dynamic and the other obstacles, things between us just felt right.

‘Fair enough,’ Seb said. ‘Hope the poor woman’s ready for Mum and Dad. You know how much they’ve wanted more grandchildren and they sure as shit aren’t getting any from me for a while.’

‘Same, bro, same.’ Oscar winced. ‘As the youngest brother, I reckon it’ll be at least another decade until they’re on my case about kids.’

‘You wish!’ Heath chuckled.

‘Are we done here?’ I opened my office door and waved my hand in a shooing motion.

‘Jeez,’ Oscar said. ‘If you’re that eager to kick us out, she must give really good head.’

‘Watch your mouth!’ I spat.

‘It was a joke!’ Oscar rolled his eyes. ‘Don’t get your knickers in a twist. Seb, Heath, let’s meet upstairs at the rooftop bar for a drink in half an hour. Let’s leave this old man to get his dick sucked whilst he’s still able to get it up.’

As they passed Valerie’s desk, she shook her head whilst continuing to type on her computer. Like all of our assistants, Valerie was used to our unfiltered shit-talking and knew it was all love.

‘See you there,’ Seb said.

‘Okay,’ Heath agreed. ‘But I can’t stay long.’

‘Have fun, arseholes.’ I gave Oscar the finger then closed the door.
