They were warm and inviting.

Ordinarily, if anyone asked me to touch a man who was dripping with sweat, I would’ve cringed.

But Mr Devlin wasn’t just a man.

He was a certified god.

At that point, if he’d asked me to lick him clean, I would’ve done it without hesitation.

I’d tried to deny it, but I couldn’t any longer. I had a crush on my boss.

I was such a cliché.

No wonder he’d run off.

He probably saw the shameful desire in my eyes and knew he had to get away from the pathetic loser pervert. The woman who watched him wank in his office instead of doing the decent thing and leaving, who hugged him after he gave her a job, then touched his arms after he fell.

In my defence, I was doing that to help him, but it was still personal contact. I should’ve asked his permission first.

Just because I had a job now, I wasn’t out of the woods. If I wanted to keep it, I had to continue to prove myself. Especially if he said this lingerie manufacturer issue was as big as he feared.

If there were job cuts, new recruits like me would be the first to go.

I fired up my computer. I needed to do something to get back on the professional track.

Last night, I’d thought of some more ideas to help with the flagship store. I could type them up and email them to him. Even if he hated them, hopefully he’d still appreciate the gesture and see that I was trying to make an effort.

Good thinking.

Half an hour later, I fired off an email asking if he was okay, letting him know I’d attached a document with some additional ideas and looked forward to hearing his thoughts.

Done.

Email was a much better way to communicate.

As long as I didn’t have to see his face or insanely beautiful body, I’d be able to keep this ridiculous attraction under control.

And if I started dating, that’d help too.

I pulled out my phone and texted Dana.

Me

Hi! Does the offer to help me set up a profile on Sated’s dating app still stand?

I’d barely put the phone back on the table before her reply came through.

Dana

Hell, yeah! I’m not in the office today (out at meetings), but could meet tomorrow for drinks on the rooftop bar?

Perfect.

Time to forget about Mr Devlin and find my Mr Right Now instead.
