I hate that she hasn’t watched me play, but I honestly can’t argue with Tate’s logic. Especially not when we barely scraped by the last round. She didn’t even get to see me score the game-winner in overtime. I may have thrown a bit of a fit when Hannah told me she hadn’t been watching.
Fine.
Are you at the store today?
Yes. Mandy starts today, so I’ll be able to take some time off once she gets the hang of things. Maybe travel somewhere.
Do you have a bucket list?
I had one when I was in college, but I kind of let go of that idea.
Pick a place, I’ll take you.
You don’t need to do that.

“That’s the goal.” I wink before the door shuts behind me.
I’ve never felt “giddy” over a woman. Though it’s becoming clear with this one that I wouldn’t have been able to resist, no matter how hard I tried.
I pull up to Beautiful Pour, hoping she doesn’t see me before I can grab us both coffee.

My mouth falls open. “Maria,” I gasp, slapping a hand over my chest. “Do you know our travel schedule?”
