“Thank you, mate. But I don’t trust me and our beast.”

“You’re not the only one affected. I made us float.”

“But the moon’s effect on you can’t harm anyone. I can hurt you.”

“That wouldn’t be such a bad way to die. I can see the headline in the newspaper now. Death by Orgasm.”

“Not funny.”

“How about death by stroking? Death Stroke?”

“Not funny, either.”

“Death by dick?”

“No death. Ever. That’s the goal.”

Sin shrugged. “I’m just trying to lighten the mood and take your mind off the full moon. I can’t believe you’ve been going to training on how to sex me without killing me.”

“I take this very seriously. I take our relationship very seriously.”

“I see.”

“You don’t like that?”

“I do like it. It just seems stressful to have that kind of burden on you. I feel like I’m a burden.”

“Never. You’re my treasure. You could never be a burden.”

“If you stop stressing, I’ll stop feeling like I’m a burden,” she told him.

Kaede sighed. “For tonight, I won’t think about the full moon that’s coming.”

“No deal.”

“Why? This was your idea.”

“I don’t want you to stop stressing tonight only. Tomorrow too. It’s Christmas. I want a stress-free Christmas. Deal?”

Kaede nodded. “Deal.”

He rose briefly to grab the blanket and pull it over them. She snuggled into his embrace when he laid back down.

“Are you sure you’re okay…”

“You’re already breaking the deal.”

“Okay. Go to sleep, witch.”

Smiling, she closed her eyes. They went a long time without saying anything. She was content to just lay there and listen to the sound of his heartbeat until sleep claimed her. But Kaede was still stressing.

“Mate, I just need to as one more time.”

“I’m sore,” she admitted.

“I knew it.”

“But, I can handle it. I don’t regret what we did. I’m not angry. I’m not upset. I enjoyed it, Kaede. I promise. I haven’t a remedy for eliminating the soreness. Tomorrow, we’ll take a nice long hot bath. I’ve got some herbs that Lee says is great for relaxing your muscles. I’ll sprinkle them in the water.”
