“I want to be full of dick, Winter. And guess what, there’s a lot of dick in the next room. Do you remember how big it was?”
Looking at her reflection in the mirror, Winter shrugged. “I’ve completely forgotten about it.”
“Lies,” Vicky and War said in unison.
“I’m serious.”
“You can’t hide your thoughts and desires from us,” Vicky stated.
“Neither can you hide it from him,” War pointed out. “He can scent your desires.”
Which was why she tried to stay the hell away from him. “I don’t desire him.”
“Bullshit,” Vicky muttered.
“She’s right,” War agreed with Vicky. “The last time he saved you, you stabbed him in the chest to keep from noticing how your body was reacting to seeing him shirtless.”
“B-but, who comes outside in the cold with no shirt on.”
“He took his shirt off and gave it to you to keep you warm,” War reminded her.
“I didn’t ask him too.” Winter folded her arms over her chest.
“Oh, and remember that time we were headed to the village to give Silvia her potion and we got surrounded by shredders?” Vicky said. “Rhen and his crew helped up battle them and then Rhen gave us a ride on his snow-bike to take the vial to Silvia.” Vicky sighed. “I still remember what it was like to wrap our arms around him while the bike vibrated underneath us. That was the most action our poor pussy has gotten in years.”
Winter closed her eyes. She remembered that day. She’d nearly cum on the back of his bike. Being that close to him, holding him, the vibrations. Ugh, was she a sex starved psycho like Vicky?
“Yay. You’ve joined the club. We should get T-shirts made.”
Winter lowered her head. This was her life. Hiding in the bathroom from her mate while talking with her inner beasts. Beasts who’d changed over the years just as much as she had. Since they now remained to themselves and tried not to encounter other creatures, Vicky had gone from being a war hungry demon to a television binge watching demon.
“I’m sure Rhen will enjoy watching the soaps with me. When we watch them with him, we need to use the Mirror of Realms to find a house on the Mortal Plane to watch television. The shows on that plane are the best. I prefer the Asian Dramas. They make me think of Rhen. But War likes the Discovery shows about wildlife. We can take turns watching both. See how I compromise? You should learn to compromise, Winter.”
“What do I need to compromise on? I watch whatever the two of you want to watch.” Though Winter did enjoy the Asian Dramas because they remind me of Rhen too.
“I’m not asking you to compromise on television. I’m asking you to compromise with Rhen.”
“He nearly killed me. Both in my dreams and in reality.”
“For years we’ve been telling you that Ember must’ve realized he was your mate. She’s the witch who put the smell on him and made him have those dreams. And somehow, she pulled you into those dreams. She knew he was an unmated vampire and she knew you were his mate. She must’ve sensed he had bloodlust potential and used it to her advantage. Rhen, the protector, didn’t want to hurt you. But sometimes, fighting the darkness inside of your own self is harder than fighting the darkness that outside in the world.”
That was true.
“See, you know it. But you refuse to compromise about it when it comes to Rhen. You used to hate me.”
“I still….”
“You USED to hate me. Now, we’re best buds. I even wash your back for you sometimes.”
“Lies.”
“Okay, that’s a lie. Still, I’ve got your back. I’m all about team Winter.”
“Finally.”
“And team Winter needs some Team Dick.”
“I don’t…”
