Kai looked at him. “I've already sent word to the King requesting that our marriage to her be annulled.”

Then his eyes moved to me. I caught the look. But said nothing. Just because he annulled the marriage didn’t mean I forgave his sorry ass. I rolled my eyes and looked away. Daemin chuckled.

“What's funny?” I asked him.

“Nothing, mate,” Daemin said, no longer smiling. “Nothing is funny.”

“An annulment isn’t good enough,” Zian said. “That’s not punishment enough.”

Thank you!

Kai finally stopped staring at me and returned his attention to the other two men. “Tomorrow is the post-wedding family visit Mei Lin has been asking us to make. She expects the three of us to accompany her to her father's home.”

Daemin understood before I did. “We’ll go as planned.”

“Yes,” Kai agreed.

I sat straighter in Zian's lap. “You're going to confront them there?”

“Yes. We're going to let Mei Lin believe nothing has changed,” Kai said. “If we confront her tonight, her father could be warned before we reach him. If we arrest the Prime Minister first, Mei Lin may realize something is wrong before we can deal with her. Tomorrow gives us an opportunity to put both of them in the same place without either one knowing we've uncovered the records.”

“And then?” I asked.

“We confront the Prime Minister with the evidence connecting him to the operation. Mei Lin answers for the lies and for the information she passed to him. Once he's secured and can no longer warn anyone, we deal with Orion.”

“Does Mei Lin know about the family visit?” I asked.

“She reminded me about it yesterday,” Kai said.

“So she thinks tomorrow she's taking her three husbands home to see Daddy?”

Daemin glanced at me. “Yes.”

“And instead you're showing up with proof that Daddy is running a criminal operation and freaky science experiments?”

“Essentially,” Kai said.

“That might be the worst family visit in history,” I joked.

Kai’s mouth almost lifted in a smile, and I looked away, hating how handsome that man was.

“What about me?” I asked. “What do you need Allie and me to do?”

“You're staying here,” Zian insisted.

I twisted around in his lap. “Excuse me?”

“You're staying here tomorrow,” he reiterated.

I looked at Daemin. He nodded. Traitor.

Zian's arm stayed around my waist. “We're deliberately walking into the Prime Minister's home to expose him. And we can’t take too many guards because he’ll know something is up. We don't know how many people in his household are involved, and we don't know what he'll do once he realizes we have proof. Taking you will give us a weakness for him to exploit.”

“We'll leave guards here with you,” Daemin said. “We’ll be able to work better knowing you're safe. Once we’ve taught you how to shift and trained your dragon to fight properly, we’ll start taking you with us more.”

“Fine,” I said, understanding why having me there could be a problem. “I'll stay here.”

“The guards will be positioned around your courtyard and throughout the manor,” Kai told me. “You won't be confined to your room. We’re just asking that you remain on the manor grounds until we return.”
