For a second there, I thought he was actually going to win.
Mountain rolls onto his side as his chest heaves up and down while he catches his breath. “You caught me off guard. Rematch tomorrow.”
“I’m not fighting your ass two days in a row. I’ve got shit to do.”
Mountain looks over at me. “Does this shit have something to do with a feisty neighbor?”
I lean over and smack Mountain on the head.
“Are you two pussies done? It’s time for my birthday cake,” Scar yells from the door.
Lilah is hanging off him, looking like a leech you can’t get off.
I don’t know how he does it.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. We’re coming.”
“Shit,” I groan as I rub my hand down my face.
I’ll always be the first one to tell someone to let loose and live their life, but sometimes the hangover that comes with it the next day really kicks you in the ass.
By forty-five years old, you would think I would learn, but no. I just push through the death that’s flowing through my veins, threatening to take over at any second. The hair of the dog usually keeps it away.
I didn’t even make it home last night like I wanted to.
After kicking Mountain’s ass, X had rounds of shots waiting for us while we watched Scar lick frosting off Star.
I don’t remember much after that.
I wanted to be there to wake sleeping beauty up, but I guess there’s still time for that now that I know where she works.
Poor thing probably gets home at the same time I wake up for the day.
Makes sense why she came out of her house hot yesterday. Too bad for her, I’m not going to stop waking her up because I decided I love watching her tits jiggle as she storms over to me almost as much as I love watching her ass storm away.
I grimace as I get a whiff of stale booze as I raise my arms above my head, stretching out.
God, I fucking stink.
Throwing the covers off, I head across the hall into the shared bathroom.
I don’t keep much in my room at the clubhouse anymore since I bought my house. I pretty much have just the basics if I need to crash when shit gets too rowdy.
There’s a queen-size bed that I don’t fit in, a dresser with a couple changes of clothes in it, and a nightstand with a lamp. I left the old school Playboy posters on the wall but the rest I cleaned out and took home.
Some of my brothers live here, while others have their own places too. I don’t give a shit where they are as long as they’re around when I need them.
After showering off the stench of last night and changing, I head out into our common area. Mountain, Professor, and Bomber are lounging around, but the others are nowhere in sight.
“Scar hasn’t surfaced yet?” I snicker.
That dude was three sheets to the wind when I finally called it quits.
“I suspect we won’t see him until tonight. Vamp and Botch carried his ass to bed around four this morning.”
Jesus.
I know I’m getting old when I can’t hang like that anymore.
