“You’re disgusting,” I tell him as I roll my eyes while I try to sit up.
This time, he lets me go.
“I’m not hearing a, ‘You’re wrong, Sling,’” he mocks as he stands up. “Don’t move. I’ll be right back.”
“Where are you going?” I ask.
Part of me hopes he will stay wherever that is and not come back, but I fear I’m beginning to like the company his annoying ass brings.
“Don’t worry your pretty little head about it, toots. I’ll be back.”
Sling doesn’t wait for me to reply before he walks the small distance to his backyard, leaving me wondering what the hell is about to happen.
Chapter

SLING
I’ve never met a bitch so strung out before in my life.
She’s constantly charging full speed ahead with zero signs of slowing down in sight. I admire the drive, but everyone needs a break. She’s going to crash and burn at the rate she’s going if she doesn’t stop for gas.
Which is why I’m walking my ass back to my house to roll her another blunt. She better not say I don’t do anything for her. I don’t mow someone’s lawn and share my weed with just anyone.
I lift my arm up to do a quick sniff test of myself, making sure I don’t stink. I didn’t have a chance to shower earlier after working in the garage, and I don’t want her pressed up against me thinking I smell like ass.
Eh, it could be worse.
I head into my room and grab the only bottle of cologne I own off my dresser and spray myself.
I pause mid-spray.
When have I ever cared about what a woman thinks I smell like?
My brothers would have me by the balls if they could see me right now.
Fuck it.
If this is what I have to do to make her feel even slightly better, I’ll fucking do it. I’m getting in there one way or another, whether she knows it or not.
I quickly roll a fat one before exiting out my patio door, hoping for once she’s going to make this easy on me by staying put. I look over at her deck as I close my sliding door. Much to my surprise, she actually listened to me and is still in the same spot I left her. Only this time, instead of the blunt I left her with, it’s the fucking tall boy in her hand.
That’s another thing that surprised me.
After seeing her sling those fancy drinks at the strip club, I would have bet good money that she was a fine wine type of girl.
“So that’s how I get her to listen?” I call to her with a small smile on my lips.
She jumps slightly, not hearing me approach.
“What?” she asks, her face scrunching up in confusion.
Damn, she’s fucking cute when her guard is down and she’s wrapped up in her animal print blanket, but we really need to work on her knowing what’s going on around her.
If things keep slowly going the way I want them to, she’s going to need to be on her toes if she’s going to make it in my world.
“I said, so that’s how I get her to listen,” I repeat as I settle back in next to her.
