“You got it, Sling,” I hear her call back from the kitchen.
Ten minutes go by before a light knock sounds on the doorframe, making me look up from my phone to see Diamond standing there with my coffee.
“Thanks, babe,” I tell her as she sets it down with a small smile before leaving as fast as she came.
I look back down at my phone.
It hasn’t gone off all morning. I figured she would have texted me after sneaking out of my place like a booty call. I know she needs space, but a ‘hey, thanks for fucking me into a coma’ would have been nice.
I toss my phone onto the table and sigh.
Why the fuck am I waiting around for a text from her like some bitch? What the hell is wrong with me?
And where the hell is everyone?
Sliding my chair out, I walk to the doorway and poke my head out of the room, and look around.
I don’t see a single damn soul in this place.
I stick two fingers between my lips and let out a loud whistle. “If you fucks don’t get your asses down here, I’m going to make your life a living hell!”
I sit back down in my chair and reach for my phone.
Still nothing.
“I see we’re in a good mood this morning.” Mountain grins as he takes his seat next to me. “What happened? Didn’t get laid last night?”
I scowl. “Will you shut the fuck up? You know why I’m pissed.”
Mountain loses the grin, his face growing hard. “Yeah.”
They all file in, some looking worse for wear than others. Bomber looks like he could keel over and die at any minute.
“Looks like I missed a good one last night,” I say as I look around the table.
“Maybe if you would have been here partying with us, we wouldn’t be having church so goddamn early,” Val grumbles as he crosses his arms and leans back in his chair.
Mountain’s eyes grow wide as he looks between Val and me.
“I would have been partying with you if I didn’t have to bail his ass.” I point my finger at Mountain. “Out of jail and hear about my girl showing her tits and almost getting down on her knees to make it happen.”
Scar’s mouth drops open in shock. “What the fuck?”
“You fuckin’ serious?” Botch asks in disbelief.
I crack my neck before I nod my head, the anger I felt last night coming back with a vengeance.
I’m ready to kill the motherfucker.
“Every single last one of them working in that joint knows who the fuck we are,” X says, his tone hard. “Especially you.”
“Tell us what happened,” Professor demands.
He’s probably the most level-headed one out of all of us. And I’m saying that lightly. Just because he wants all the facts before coming to a conclusion or making a decision doesn’t mean he won’t beat the ever-loving shit out of you.
Mountain stares a hole into the table as I begin to talk. “Blake didn’t know mine and Mountain’s real names, so they wouldn’t let her bail us out. When she was about to leave, some guy came out of the back and said he could help her out. Took her into a room and said that if she showed him her tits, he would tell her my name.” I pause, inhaling deeply as I try to contain the rage, but it isn’t working. My grip on the coffee cup tightens as I grit out the rest. “So, she did. Then he said he would tell her Mountain’s name if she got down on her knees. Which she didn’t.”
Thank fuck for that because everyone in that place would die.
