I moan, my skin heating under his touch, his fingers burning into my flesh.

My breath comes faster, my skin tingles. I teeter on the edge, euphoria building. His hand moves over my ass.

His thumb presses against the tight muscles. He shoves it in.

His pace picks up, my body growing wetter, my juices coating his hard length as he buries himself inside me.

The only sounds are my moans, his heavy breathing, and flesh meeting flesh.

I become lost in the feel of him deep inside me.

My walls flutter around him, the pulsating growing worse.

My skin burns, my toes curl as I reach my climax. My walls clench around him, and I hear him groan.

His movements slow, then still as he finds his release.

Sweat coats my skin, my face flushes as he pulls out and drops beside me on the bed.

I rest my head on his chest, trying to catch my breath.

His fingers lazily draw circles on my back. He kisses the top of my head.

“I love you, Elora Aziza,” he says.

“And I love you, Silas Draquin,” I chuckle, my eyes fluttering closed.

He tugs the blanket up just as sleep takes me.

I wake up to darkness. Matitus and Dragus are now fast asleep beside me. Silas, however, is nowhere to be seen, yet I can sense he is awake. Getting up, I pull the covers back up over Matitus before finding some clothes and putting on a dressing gown. The stone floors feel cold under my feet as I walk around the castle in search of him only to find him staring at the shelves of books in his office.

I walk over to him, wrapping my arms around his waist from behind. He jumps, startled, lost in thought and not expecting someone to creep up on him.

“What are you doing up, it’s 4AM,” he says, turning around in my arms.

“Looking for you, and I shouldn’t have fell asleep so early in the day, I’m wide awake now,” I tell him, and he nods.

“What are you doing?” I ask looking toward the bookshelves he was staring at.

“Nothing, just thinking,” he says.

“About?” I ask.

“How to make the city better, safer for everyone,” he says.

“What do you mean, it’s pretty safe now,” I tell him. He shakes his head, grabbing a book off the shelf and opening it. He hands it to me, and I see it contains old photos of the city in a time when things were different. Before the war, everything looked new and fresh. Turning the page, I see a map of the area and notice there were other kingdoms in the area. I grew up here and never saw or knew how close the other kingdoms were.

“That used to be the Fae kingdom, where your people originated from”, Silas says, pointing to a kingdom on the other side of the mountains.

“Is it still there?”

“No, I destroyed it, all that is left is ruins now” he says, shaking his head. I sense that he genuinely feels bad about it.

“Do you miss her?” I ask.

“Blaire?” he asks, his eyes snap to mine. He seems to think for a second, his emotions everywhere, and I am not able to pinpoint one.

“No, I miss what could have been, what the world could have been if she just accepted the mate bond and if I didn’t ruin everything,” he tells me. “Now I need to figure out how to fix it.”
