“I love you,” he whispers. His entire body is covered in sweat. His skin sticks to mine, which is just as sweaty.
“I love you, too,” I murmur.
Hands tug at my hair, pulling my head back. Raidon leans down, brushing his lips against mine, while Thane buries his face in my chest.
“Now you’re our Alpha,” Raidon mumbles against my lips. Pulling back, I see Rhen gripping Thane’s shoulders, whispering something to him and trying to calm him. His entire body shakes as he clutches me. Thane lifts his head, and I see tears etched into his skin. He looks up at Rhen, who smiles softly at him, leans down, and kisses him.
“Thank you,” Rhen murmurs, making me wonder if this is for them too. Thane isn’t just making me his equal but giving me power over them. I know he wouldn’t have done that without telling them first.
Leaning forward, Thane looks up at me. His lips tug at the corners as he kisses me, his tongue tangling with mine as he stands from his kneeling position. I wrap my legs around his waist as he straightens, and his hands fall to my ass, squeezing it.
“Yours,” he whispers.
“Mine,” I say, smiling against his lips. “Hmm, that means I dominate you now,” I tell him with a laugh.
“Except in the bedroom,” he says, chuckling.
“I can live with that,” I tell him.
“And the kitchen. Don’t let her have that either,” Leon chimes in. I shoot him a glare over Thane’s shoulder.
“Yes, I definitely call rank in my kitchen,” Thane quickly says.
“My cooking is not that bad,” I whine.
“It could be better,” Raidon mumbles, and my eyes narrow at him. I look at Rhen.
“I’d still eat it,” he says, and they all stop to glare at him. He shrugs.
“See, and you reckon you’re not the brown noser!” Raidon exclaims. “Even she knows her cooking is sh–” I raise an eyebrow at Raidon when he motions toward me. “Edible,” he finishes. “If you like charcoal,” he adds with a laugh.
“For Scarlett’s safety, I think it’s better if I cook,” Thane says, defending their remarks on my lack of cooking skills. “But I’ll teach you,” he tells me, pressing his lips to my cheek as he climbs the stairs.
Leon retrieves Scarlett, who wants out of her chair, her legs kicking furiously.
Chapter Sixty-Seven
FOUR WEEKS LATER
Harlow
“You’re pregnant,” Raidon tells me as I heave my guts up, his hands tangling in my hair.
“Scarlett is barely four months old,” I retort.
“You went into heat, we fucked you, so now, you’re knocked up,” Raidon chuckles.
“That’s not a guarantee!”
“Isn’t it?” he laughs.
“We can’t have another baby right now. They’ll be the same age! Scar–” I heave, upturning my stomach again, my hands clutching the toilet bowl.
“Only for a few months,” he tells me, unfazed by my vomit, unlike Rhen. I threw up in front of him the other day, and he, in turn, threw up in the bathtub. His retching made mine worse, and we turned into a synchronized dance, both of us unable to stop until we had nothing left. Leon walked in afterward to find us laying on the cold tiles, feeling like death. Then Thane got stuck cleaning up the mess we made.
I shake my head, hoping he’s wrong. “Please don’t be pregnant. Please be a stomach bug,” I whine. I don’t want to be sick every day. Scarlett didn’t make me this sick. Plus, we have short pregnancies, lasting just 16 weeks, and Scarlett is only just starting to crawl.
Hearing footsteps, Raidon tugs slightly on my hair and I look over my shoulder. “Rhen, don’t you come in here. I’m not carrying your ass out,” Raidon calls.
