It felt good though.

Like home for some reason.

We walk around the fairgrounds as I soak it all in.

“Rave?”

“Hm?” I turned to Willow.

“You okay?”

“I’m fine.”

She gave me a skeptical look.

“You’ve been staring at the attractions like you’re expecting them to apologize.”

I laughed.

“Maybe I am.”

She bumped my shoulder.

“Come on. Let’s do something stupid.”

She pointed to the Gravitron.

The sun was set and the carnival started up in less than twenty minutes.

“Perfect timing, I sure do.”

I looked at Willow and the others. “Anyone else?”

They all shake their heads no.

“Let’s go.” I say and stick my arm out for her to take.

We only just met tonight, but she seemed like such a genuine soul and I couldn’t help but be so happy for Charlie.

She was taller than me, with hair red and long. Like a real life princess.

My eyes couldn’t help but look at the big clock in the midway.

Nine minutes.

I don’t know why I was counting down when there was nothing for me here.
