The sign flickered above an old black building.
I stared at it.
“That wasn’t here before.”
“Even better.”
We joined the short line.
Maybe I could actually enjoy this.
Maybe I could stop thinking about what my ex boyfriend was doing.
Maybe I could stop thinking about his mask chasing me.
The doors opened.
We stepped inside.
Darkness swallowed us.
A bell rang somewhere above.
Then a woman’s voice whispered:
“Welcome home.”
Willow grabbed my arm.
“Absolutely the fuck not.”
I laughed.
We all moved through the first room.
Coffins lined the walls.
Candles flickered.
A body sat upright in one of them.
I jumped when it moved.
Willow and Sunny screamed.
I laughed again.
For a few moments, it felt normal.
Then, an actor burst through the side door.
Willow ran.
I ran after her.
I laughed and screamed.
Another actor burst through the sides and Sunny and Charlie ran off into the house.
