Olivia’s brows furrow at me, cocking her head.

“I think she needs a scar to match yours,” she clips and raises her arm above Olivia.

“I’M PREGNANT!!!!” the confession rips from her throat.

Nika freezes and the room falls silent. My heart vaults into my stomach. The stampede in my head grows larger. My lungs seize and I can’t breathe.

She couldn’t be.

“Tell me you’re lying,” I implore.

My eyes drift to him. Pain twists his features, tears welling in his eyes. His breathing is ragged.

He didn’t know.

And it’s his.

HIS.

My chest tightens and I look back at Olivia.

“Liv?” Sage’s voice cracks.

She looks past me at him, crying uncontrollably. Her chin trembles and she mouths, “I’m sorry.”

I nudge her head up. “It was supposed to be me. Mine.”

“Don’t fucking touch her!”

"Kyle, please. Please let me go," she cries softly.

“Well, this just got interesting.” Nika still stands with her arm raised, her gaze bouncing back and forth between the three of us.

My eyes plead silently with her as my breathing escalates.

“Please don’t do this. Please don’t hurt her,” Sage begs while the zip ties cut into his arms, blood pooling around the cuts.

Nika drops her shoulders slightly and relief washes over me. She stares at me, the blue color shifting to something darker.

She plunges the blade into Olivia’s stomach, and I fall to my knees, the air leaving my lungs in a brutal force.

Sage’s cries of anguish echo in the warehouse as he tries desperately to get out of the chair he’s strapped to.

“It’s time to move on,” Nika murmurs.

I jump to my feet. “You fucking stabbed her!”

She looks down at my clenched fists, blood coating my fingers.

“You did.” She smiles.

My fingers are clasped around the switch blade. I drop it at my feet and take a step back. The roar in my ears increases until the screams fade around me.

I look down at my hands again and see them wrapped around a woman’s neck. A flash of white blinds me for a second, and a searing pain digs into my brain. Then I see another woman lying in the grass in the park. My eyes grow wide and my head snaps to Olivia, blood pouring from her stomach.
