“Soon, I’ll let you know.”
We hung up. Once I realized my father was locked down, with no access to a phone, computer, or any means of electronic communication was removed. All new staff are placed in the house to prepare his food and watch him. The staff providing his food did not have a phone when going in.
The staff are to be switched weekly, so he couldn’t get comfortable communicating with anyone and plan any attacks. Cameras are placed everywhere except in his bathroom. He’s on a round-the-clock watch.
Taimani and I did not call or have not gone to see him. Right now, he’s in a spacious gilded cage.
The next person is Princess Nadra. I got Raheem to close all the deals we had with King Jodra, once that was done. I requested all the pictures of the princess doing drugs. I had heard about her being on drugs but being able to function.
Of course, her father had decided in their country that anyone caught with drugs or doing drugs would be sentenced to prison for five years. Everyone had cried out at his draconian measure to curtail drugs in their country. The world had preached rehab, but he’d stood his stubborn, unrelatable, and unconceding grounds.
He’d said his country would not tolerate it for any citizen, a total zero tolerance. Some had asked if he would treat everyone equally. He said without a doubt. Even he was not above this law. Little did he know of his daughter’s habit. Well, I’m about to strike.
After the grand ball, I realized that Nadra was chasing me because her father didn’t know of her habit and her father must have tied her inheritance and future to marrying of royal blood otherwise, she gets nothing.
I didn’t understand why she wouldn’t pick any of the men she dated. Her younger sister had married a European prince, which was acceptable to King Jodra. Nadra hasn’t been so lucky with finding princes. Rich men yes, but her attitude sucks, which was why they all dumped her.
I was her easy bet. When she returned to me hoping to pick up after our breakup and my accident, Jade was already in the picture. She immediately turned her focus to eliminating Jade even when I warned her. Now she has gone too far.
I bought pictures and videos of Nadra taking drugs. I’ve always known about her drug habit; I tried in the past to get her rehabilitated especially when her father came up with the draconian rule. She refused my help and kept her habit going, which was easy with the money access she had. Tomorrow, the pictures will be released before she lands in Coira. She was very good at stalking my movement. Now it’s time I paid her back in kind.
I’ve always kept her terrible secret, but she and my dad went too far with the attempt on Jade’s life. That’s where I draw the line.
She’s on the plane home. By the time she lands. The world would be pushing the King not to spare his daughter from the draconian law he created for others.
I’d surprised her on the plane before it took off. She was seated comfortably as I was thinking of enjoying your last comfortable ride.
“Naseer, this is a pleasant surprise are you coming with me to see my dad, he would be happy to see we’re still together.” She’d grinned. Not even in your dreams are we together.
“Nadra, you should have listened to me when I told you to leave Mariam alone,” I tersely state.
“I didn’t do anything, I haven’t stopped at your office or spoken to her” she snaps, rolling her eyes like I’d just irritated her with useless information.
“Yes, that’s correct but you did team up with my father.” The unpleasant surprise is written all over her shriveled-up face.
“I know about your plans. What either of you failed to realize is Jade is the love of my life and I’ll always protect her.” She rolls her eyes
“Enjoy your flight and hope you remember when I warned you not to go near my wife.”
“Wife!?” comes the loud shrieking voice.
“I married her in a private ceremony five years ago and I don’t have room for another woman.”
“You ungrateful ugly bastard, you kept stringing me along,” she screams.
“No, I told you several times that I wasn’t interested in you, but you thought you could change my mind, you should’ve heeded the warning I gave you, goodbye Nadra.” I turned to the pilot. Leaving her to marinate the information I just shared. Little does she know her fate is about to change.
“Do not detour this flight. It must land in Coira in the next three hours,” I say to the pilot. I lean closer to him. “If this flight doesn’t land in Coira, you will answer to me.” I make sure he notices my look is serious and I don’t bluff.
“Yes, Your Highness”
A backward glance at Nadra shows she’s still brooding. I got off the plane. Once in my car. I wait for the flight to take off.
I turned to Rilwan. “Track that flight if it departs from the route to Coira let me know.”
“Yes, Your Highness”
I call Raheem, “We are good to go.”
