18 MONTHS AGO - THE SECRET OMEGA

Uriel staggered through town, jumpy and ill at ease. Everything felt wrong.

He felt weak, like his limbs had been stripped of their muscles, like he was so weightless that a breeze could knock him over.

Just one night, he told himself. Just one fuck, and I’ll go home and sleep for a week.

There had been no other choice. After years of heat suppressants, after years of being held captive and tortured, his body was wreaking havoc with its first heat in a long time.

For the past few years, after his escape, Uriel had staved it off with more suppressants. This year, the suppressants had quit working. Toys hadn’t worked for the past few days; Uriel craved a warm body against his own. An alpha to hold him down.

But with the way he was, all scarred up and drastically changed, no alpha would take a second look at him.

Hence the shape-shifting spell.

Right now, he was small again, the way he should be. The spell had taken away the alpha-bulk of his muscles; it had made him shorter, his face sharper. It had removed the multitude of scars on his skin, and made his hair soft and smooth. Hell, even his voice was higher, instead of a rough rasp.

For the first time in far too long, he felt pretty.

And it also felt wrong because this was no longer what he was.

Heat pulsed between his legs. He shoved aside his conflicting thoughts and staggered down the street, searching for the throbbing beat of a nightclub.

There, across the road and down the alley.

All he needed was to cross the road and get in there, and he would find an alpha, someone who would be happy to fuck this need out of him.

Uriel stepped onto the road, barely remembering that there were cars.

“Hey!” someone yelled.

Large hands grabbed him.

Uriel almost attacked the alpha on instinct, but then he saw the oncoming headlights.

The stranger dragged him back onto the sidewalk, and cars honked loudly as they drove by.

It took a moment for things to sink in.

I almost died. Someone saved me.

“What in Hell were you... Hey, are you okay?”

When Uriel looked up—he was shorter now, and had to crane his neck further—he found an alpha peering down at him. Sea-blue eyes, sandy-blond hair, strong jaw. His shirt clung to the muscles on his body, highlighting his shoulders, pecs, and biceps.

Uriel shuddered, his body growing hotter than before. Suddenly, he knew what it would be like, rubbing up nakedly against this alpha. Feeling that strength against him, sinking into him.

“Wh-what?” he said.

“You okay?” Slowly, the alpha released him. “You almost walked in front of those cars.”

“I’m—I’m fine. I was going to the club.”

The alpha glanced over Uriel’s head at the nightclub, and frowned. “Are you sure? You don’t seem well.”

“I’m fine! I’m in heat. I’m going to the club for an alpha,” Uriel blurted.
