It never stops amazing me how someone's arms can feel like home.
“I missed you,” he murmurs against my neck.
I smile.
“I missed you too.”
I lean back just enough to look into those impossible blue eyes.
Big mistake.
Because the second our gazes meet, his hands find my face and we lose ourselves in a kiss.
“You’re going to be late again!”
Chiara's voice makes us jump apart.
We both turn to find her climbing into her car with a smug grin on her face.
“Oops.” I shrug.
She rolls her eyes and drives away.
The second she's gone, I turn back to Damiano.
“So...”
He's holding my helmet, turning it over nervously in his hands.
Which is strange.
Damiano is never nervous.
“How would you feel about ditching school today?”
He finally looks up.
And for the first time in seven months, I see uncertainty in his eyes.
Interesting.
“A whole day to spend with you and only you?” I pretend to think it over.
His smile starts to return.
“I don't know...” I lace my fingers through his. “Whatever would we do with all that time, just the two of us?”
He laughs and immediately pulls me into another toe-curling kiss.
“You teasing me, vita?”
I nod, my nose brushing his. “Maybe.”
His eyes darken with amusement. “So that’s a yes?”
I smile up at him. “It’s an easy yes.”
He smirks and hands me my helmet.
