My Craving

For several seconds, he only stares at me. I expected anger when he eventually discovered the security detail. The disguise and whatever he was doing inside that club give me even less reason to regret the decision.

“You’re calling them off.”

“No.”

“What the actual fuck?” He leans forward. “You cannot have people following me around without my permission.”

“I’m not calling them off.”

His eyes narrow. “You really are an arrogant bastard.”

“I told you last night that you’re mine.”

“And I told you that was a fantasy.” His mouth curves slightly even though he’s still glaring at me. “Ever hear of role play, Daddy?”

Hearing the name again sends my attention straight to his mouth. “I have.”

“Then you understand the difference between a scene and reality.”

“I do, and last night wasn’t a scene to me.”

His mouth tightens. “Then stop having me followed.”

“No.”

Nash drops back against the seat and stares at me like he’s trying to decide whether arguing with me is worth the effort. Apparently, he decides it is. “Jesus Christ, you really don’t hear yourself, do you? You don’t just decide someone belongs to you because you had one intense night together.”

“I didn’t decide last night. I wanted you before then.”

Some of the anger leaves his face, but not nearly enough. “And that somehow makes having me followed okay?”

“To me, yes.”

Nash points a finger at me. “You are completely unhinged. Normal people don’t hire security to keep tabs on the man they kissed once.”

“I’ve never claimed to be normal.”

He shakes his head. “You’re an arrogant bastard. Daddy Duncan was way more fun.”

I reach across the space between us, wrap an arm around his waist, and pull him onto my lap before he can react.

“I’m one and the same, a bhuachaill dána.”

“What the fuck?” His brow furrows as he tries to twist around in my hold. “What did you just call me?”

“A naughty boy. It sounds better in Irish.”

“You switched to Irish just to insult me?” He folds his arms across his chest as much as he can with my arm around him. “I didn’t agree to any of those rules you gave me.”

“Aye, you did. You simply chose not to follow them.”

“You really are fucking delusional.” He twists enough in my hold to look at me. “We fucked once, Duncan. What exactly do you think is happening here?”

“I think it’s fairly obvious I want more than one night with you.”

He laughs, but there’s enough disbelief in it that I know he still thinks I’m going to change my mind. “You’re talking about an actual relationship?”

“Aye. That’s exactly what I want.”
