We all look as the doors open to reveal a small army of servers carrying trays full of food.

“Let’s eat,” Logan commands, and we don’t need to be told twice… at least not me.

I am starving.

“Twins,” Logan continues. “We are meeting with Arthur and Cillian in exactly one hour. Make sure your feeds are live, and you’re ready for the briefing.”

“Ja! See you in an hour,” Leif says, waving his coconut before Alexios terminates the call.

I pull my plate of six eggs, bacon, and sourdough toward me.

I am eating as much as possible, because if my encounter with Cillian in the middle of the night is any indication of how the rest of this contract is going to go, then I’m going to need every ounce of energy I can get just to survive him.

CHAPTER 4

CILLIAN

The morning sun streams into the breakfast solarium, making my eyes burn. Don’t get me wrong, I usually love the sun and other shiny things, but after the night I just had?

Anything brighter than a shadow feels like a personal attack.

Still, Knox is stuck in my head.

I can’t stand the man, but holy hell, that body.

And the towel?

Chef’s kiss.

“Martha,” I say as she removes my breakfast plate. “Make sure you keep stocking the Alba room with those tiny hand towels, not the bath sheets. ”

“Alright, Mister Cillian.”

My uncle looks up. “You hate small towels.”

“They’re not for me.”

“Cil, please don’t torture our guests.”

“It’s smaller towels… how is that even torture?”

Though, on second thought, the one getting tortured will be me, watching him in that tiny thing, unable to get closer.

I open my mouth to reply, but I stop as soon as I see Logan and Alistair walk into the room. They are followed by a Latino guy and another man who looks like a model, but my attention is unfortunately on the last man.

Knox.

He checks the room, his gaze landing on me for a fraction of a second, and I blush.

Still, I manage to mask it with a glare, earning one from him.

Alistair places a briefcase on the table, containing the paperwork and anonymous files we handed them last night.

“Arthur,” he begins, “I’ve reviewed the documents you sent. The blueprints of the island, corporate structures, and the threat assessment. Everything is in order.”

Arthur looks surprised. “Already? I only gave you those files last night.”

“We work fast,” Logan states. “Our operation is divided into three teams. Team One, Fortification, is already on the island. Team Two is Intel.” He turns toward my uncle. “This is Damián. He has your guest list. He and Alexios will conduct background checks on every guest, vendor, and staff member. They’ll flag anyone with connections, troubles, or a history of violence.”
