Knox drags me away from the table toward the back of the nightclub, and I do my best to get away.
At which I fail, of course.
“Knox, let go of me! You can’t just disappear for two days and then show up to drag—!”
He ignores me, and instead of letting me go, he pulls me down a corridor.
A security guard steps out from a doorway, blocking our path. “Hey! You can’t be here!”
Without a single word, Knox raises his left hand and shows the back of his palm to the guard.
The guard’s eyes widen as he recognizes the Harknett mark.
“Mr. Alder. I am so sorry, I didn’t recognize you,” he says, stepping aside and opening a door marked STORAGE 2. “Please, go right ahead.”
Knox hauls me into the room filled with stacked crates, shelves, and spare liquor bottles, and shuts the door behind us.
“Alexios, turn off the camera in Storage 2. Now.” He says, and then double-taps his ear comm.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?!” I push Knox, my hands tingling at the contact with his body.
“With me?!” Furious, Knox steps into my space, towering over me. “You are sitting out in an open club, surrounded by strangers, and getting drunk! Are you insane, Cillian?!”
“Me?!” I yell back, taking a step backward, my back hitting a cleaning supplies shelf.
Knox takes a step forward, trapping me, surrounding me.
Damn it.
“You’re the one who vanished for days after what happened in my office and went to go fuck another man, Knox! You’re the one who brought a freaking date to work!”
“A date… I went to fuck who?”
“Your Korean beauty!” I spit out, jealousy twisting in my gut. “And now you’re bringing him to my table? You expect me to just sit there while you—!”
“I didn’t fuck anyone, and I didn’t date anyone.” He places both hands on the shelves behind me, caging me in. “I went on a raid in order to keep you safe.”
“You didn’t sleep with the Korean man?”
“Cil… I haven’t been with anyone for a while.”
And just like that, any shred of logic I had puffs into nonexistence.
“Kiss me,” I demand.
Knox shakes his head, his jaw tightening as his eyes burn into mine. “No.”
I fist my hands in his shirt and pull him to me. “Knox… kiss me,” I pant, my heart and breathing going crazy by now.
“No, Cillian.”
“Please, I need to feel you.” I cling closer, my hips grinding against his, my lips grazing his. “Kiss me—”
Knox’s mouth crashes into mine, and his knee slides between my legs, pressing against my cock.
I gasp into his mouth, and he uses the opportunity to push deeper. He kisses me as if he were starving.
In a way, we both were.
