“Go away.”
“Fine, fine.” He laughs. “Stay safe, bror.”
Björn unholsters his Beretta, hands it to me, and climbs back into the SUV. He turns the key, rolls down his window, and leans out.
“Knox... I’m not gonna tell you how to live your life. But don’t let that man steal anything else from you.”
“Sure.”
“And Knoxy?”
“Yeah?”
“Do everything I would do.” He winks, blasts his rock music, and pulls out into the night.
And as I stand on the porch watching his taillights fade, my mind stays on his words and the realization of how difficult these next four days are going to be: trapped in a secluded cabin, isolated from the world, with Cillian sleeping just a few rooms away.

The next morning, I watch the bacon sizzle in the pan as if it holds the answers to the universe.
As if that strip of meat is going to curl up and explain to me how the hell I’m supposed to survive four whole days locked in this cabin with that blond menace.

All I can picture now is how impossibly sexy Cillian would look out in that garden… naked, riding me, his long hair and soft skin gleaming in the golden light.
Fuck.
I kill the heat on the stove right as Cillian’s footsteps creak down the hallway.
He steps into the kitchen with his hair messy, wearing a gray sweater that hangs off one shoulder and a pair of sweatpants.
Dear God…
He rubs his eyes in the cutest possible way and looks around, confused.
“Where’s Björn?”
“Gone,” I say, flipping an egg over in the pan. “He took off after dropping us here to join the rest of the guys. They’re keeping an eye on your friends while tracking down leads on what went down yesterday.”
“How are we getting back to the city?”
“We’re not. We’re on lockdown here for the next four days.”
Cillian blinks, the sleep clearing from his eyes. “Just the two of us?”
“Yeah. Just us,” I say, sliding a plate of eggs and bacon onto the table in front of him. “After what happened at The Os, we’re not taking any risks. And since nobody knows this cabin exists—”
