A shiver chased across my flesh. Flutters rippled through my pussy, and my body jerked on a hard convulsion. My back bowed, and I clutched the bedding, my hands tightening into fists as my muscles clenched around him. I gasped and murmured his name. My orgasm washed over me, and I gave in to the euphoria, getting lost in the pleasure.
“Fuck.” He continued to pound into me. Braced over me, his arms locked, and his cock speared in and out of me. Our bodies collided. I breathed him in, making him a part of me. I relished the weight and strength of him on me. With a roar, he came. Hot spurts slicked my channel. And he continued to thrust in and out through the final soft pulse of his orgasm.
Tears slipped from the corner of my eyes as I thought of the baby. I had made Brett a part of me. I loved him. I loved Lili so much. And I’d love our baby. I’d love them all enough not to make us miserable. I turned my head on the pillow. I couldn’t stare into his eyes and not wish for the fairytale happy ending.
“Baby, look at me.”
I did.
“I’ve got you.” With a sip of my lips, he made a promise I’d never ask him to keep.
Chapter Fifteen
Steele
I hated leaving Jaymi, but I climbed onto my bike and headed back to the MC in the morning sunshine. Last night, I could see she was fucking scared. I wasn’t exactly chill with the situation. Was the timing good? Not really. But was I pissed? No, because whatever this was between us felt too good to fear a future together. Still, we could take it slow. Just because we were having a baby didn’t mean we had to start planning our wedding.
Jesus Christ. A kid. I’d sworn I’d never have a bunch of baby momma’s out in the world raising my babies. I’d taken Natalie for granted. I hadn’t put in the work I should’ve as Lili’s dad, thinking marriage to her mom was enough. It wasn’t. I’d do better both with Lili and with this baby. I’d do better with Jaymi.
Would she even want to marry me? Not anytime soon. She wasn’t ready for me to get on one knee any more than I was ready to propose. One divorce was enough. I didn’t need Jaymi to be my wife for her to be my old lady.
Natalie and I seemed to have a fragile truce. By the time the baby came, the divorce would be final, custody and support for Lili established, and we’d be set in our routine. Nat could fuck off if she had a problem with Lili having a baby brother or sister.
I parked my bike and headed into the MC. Romeo was taking inventory behind the bar while Levi cooed to her baby. I stilled, imagining Jaymi with our baby in her arms. I liked to think karma was always trying to fuck me over, but maybe karma was finally giving Jaymi a bit of what she deserved. She’d been alone in her grief for too long.
She might not be ready to acknowledge it, but she had me. She had Lili. And like her old man said, Jaymi was meant to be a mom. She wouldn’t be alone in this. I’d be there every day for her and our baby.
I walked behind the bar and poured a cup of coffee. “Are you going to be around tonight?” I asked Romeo.
He glanced at Levi, and she shrugged as she bounced Rosie on her knees.
“I could be.” Romeo smiled and flipped his hair from his face. “What do you need? Is this about Kodiak?”
I’d been so wrapped up with Lili and Jaymi, I hadn’t thought about the drama going on with Kodiak. “No. Is he here?” Because he was too good of a friend to lie to him. He was fucked in the club. There was nothing I could do about that, but I could give him the heads up.
He lowered his voice. “Did something happen?”
“I had court yesterday.” Even with all the shit going on, I smiled. “The TRO was dropped. Natalie signed the divorce papers, and I got Lili back.”
“Fuck, dude, you’ve got to be fucking lit.”
“Yeah. I took her for pizza yesterday. She couldn’t stop talking about the MC. I thought I’d surprise her.” I needed to do something special for my kid. “I’m picking her up from school on the bike. Natalie pulled her out of dance. I know she’ll want to see Stormy. I’m going to take her by the studio and get her signed up for classes again. Then I thought I’d bring her over. Nothing big. She’ll have homework, and I can’t have her out late.”
“Are you going to bring Jaymi?” Levi asked as she held Rosie on her hip.
“Nah. Lili doesn’t know about me and Jaymi. We need to keep it that way for a while.” Another reason to do something special for Jaymi tonight, too. Maybe candles, a warm bath, and a night in front of a fire.
A cup of coffee, and a quick shower later, I rode out to my lawyer’s office. Now that the papers were signed, I hoped the divorce would move quickly. Next, I headed out to find gear for Lili.
While I picked up a harness at the motorcycle shop, I found her a black and white kittycat helmet. Maybe it was supposed to be a skunk. Whatever it was, there were two ears on top, and whiskers were painted on the sides. She’d love the matching jacket and gloves covered with pink skulls and roses.
Then I took a long ride. I needed clear thinking. I could list dozens of reasons why I should tell Cory to fuck off. Nah. I could list one. He was Natalie’s brother. And because he was, he had to believe her.
There was really only one reason not to go back and that had to do with me. I supposed I deserved him questioning my character without hearing me out. That was my pride talking. At the end of the day, I had two babies to support, and Cory had treated me good up until he fired my ass.
I’d bitten the bullet and sent him a text. I could be back on the jobsite tomorrow, but I needed flexible hours on the weeks I had Lili. He agreed. Then I killed a couple hours until it was time to get Lili from school. I parked along the curb and sent a text to Jaymi.
Brett: I’m out front. Got a surprise for Lili.
