“You are settled?” Booby asked quietly, her voice suggesting she was less stressed.
“I’m never moving from here,” Sinead breathed out.
“Is the contact helping you?”
“Oh yeah. He’s amazing.”
“That’s a good sign. You’ll be helping him, as well.”
Sinead shifted her weight and tried to ignore the fact she felt a tiny bit horny. Talyn was gorgeous and sweet. He made her feel like she was sitting on white fluffy clouds, surrounded by edible treats and watching her favorite movie. He pushed away all the worry. He made everything perfect.
“He’s sick and needs your help,” she whispered to herself.
“You’re correct,” Booby said. “You’re his cure, just as he is yours.”
Sinead grinned to herself. Maybe she could get used to a life as Talyn’s partner. If she felt like this every time she went to sleep next to him, it would be incredible.
She rested her head on his chest, tightened her hold on him, and closed her eyes.
Chapter 10
A warm wave of comfort swept over Talyn. He wasn’t sure if he was dead or alive, but if this was death, he’d take it. He lingered in the sweet, warm embrace of whatever had hold of him. Nothing hurt anymore. His thoughts were quiet, the ache behind his eyes had gone, and his pulse was steady.
He inched open an eye. He saw nothing. Talyn shifted his arms and froze. Someone was next to him.
The room was pitch black, and it took him a few seconds to figure out where he was. This had to be his bedroom, but he was certain he hadn’t made it onto the bed before blacking out.
He raised a hand and felt around in the darkness, stopping as his palm landed on soft, warm skin. He slid his hand further down the arm he’d touched. This person wasn’t wearing clothes.
Talyn realized that neither was he. What in the stars had gone on? How had he ended up naked in bed with a stranger slumped on him? From the sound of the person’s breathing, they were in a deep sleep.
His hand moved up to their head, and he paused as he found a handful of silky hair. He drew in a slow breath, and his pulse quickened. He’d felt this hair before. It was Sinead. She was in bed with him. And not just next to him, she was plastered across his body, one arm wrapped around his shoulders and the other curled over his chest. Her left leg was slung over his thigh, and the other one stretched out beside him.
Talyn didn’t want to ruin this by moving, so he lay still and simply breathed. This was the calmest he’d felt for years. It was possibly the calmest he’d ever felt. Nothing bothered him. He inched down his barriers and waited. There was no sound or emotions from his mom. This was because of Sinead. How had she known this would help him?
However she had, Talyn was glad of it. She must have come back and gotten him into bed, stripped him and lay beside him. Sinead was the reason he felt so amazing.
“Booby,” he whispered. “What’s the time?”
“Nine in the evening.” Booby’s reply was equally soft.
His jaw dropped. He’d slept all day. He hadn’t had ten hours of undisturbed sleep in what felt like forever.
A faint light appeared around the room. Talyn took a moment for his eyes to adjust. He looked down to see a smile on Sinead’s face as her cheek rested on his bare chest. She seemed as happy as he felt. She was completely relaxed, her muscles languid, and a cute dimple on each cheek.
Talyn gently brushed a finger across the bare skin of her shoulder. He couldn’t let this go. He couldn’t give this up now he knew how incredible it would be with Sinead. He had to figure out how to make this work. With her by his side, he felt invincible. She was like his own personal shield. She was his Blocker. It was as if she’d been created to make him feel incredible.
“Sinead did this to me?” he whispered to Booby.
“She did, under my advisement.”
“She didn’t mind getting naked?”
“She hesitated but realized it would help you. Sinead has a good heart.”
“Sinead has an incredible heart.” Talyn let out a slow breath and slowly lowered his barriers further. He had to blink tears out of his eyes when he was hit with feelings of fondness from Sinead. She cared for him. She’d been worried about him and was determined to make him well.
There was no reason for her to resist him. He would never hurt her. In fact, if she kept making him feel this good, Talyn would worship her. It was like she had special powers, much stronger than his own empath ability. She could shut out the noise. With her own bright energy, she made everything better for him.
