Wilder grunted and smirked. He was never big on words.

Eden pressed a hand against Ranger’s chest and looked up into his purple eyes. He was a handsome devil. He had a scar on his stubbled chin and a wicked smile on his face. He was a temptation, and it had been a while since she’d blown off steam with a guy. Maybe they could have some fun.

She shook her head. “This is all work.”

Ranger tipped back his head and groaned. “Don’t say that. You’re breaking my heart.”

“I didn’t know you had one of those,” Gunner said.

Ranger lunged at him and they tussled, while Wilder looked on, a bored expression on his face.

Blaze appeared out of the cargo hold and strode along the corridor. His expression was tight as he reached the group.

“Hey. Long-time no see,” Ranger said to him.

“You too.” Blaze nodded at Gunner and Wilder then glanced at Eden. There was a flicker of something she didn’t recognize in his gaze.

“Do you guys need anything before we take off?” Blaze asked.

“We’re just refueling. It’ll only take half an hour.” Ranger cocked his head. “What is that banging from inside the cargo hold?”

“Our passengers are keen to go to their new life of luxury,” Eden said.

“I’ll go calm them down,” Blaze said.

“I should check on them too. I’ll see you all in a few minutes.” Eden hurried after him. “What’s up?”

He kept his gaze forward. “Why should anything be up?”

“You were pissy with our escort. You know, the guys watching our asses so we don’t get blown out of the sky. The guys here to keep us alive.”

“I’ve got no problem with them. So long as they don’t screw this up.”

“Hey, wait.” Eden grabbed his arm. The look in his eyes had her sucking in a deep breath. There was fury there but also desire. She’d seen it before. Most guys looked at her like that when they wanted to get laid.

She’d always ignored it when lust simmered in Blaze’s gaze but couldn’t look away this time as it sent a primal pump of heat through her.

“Are you going to spend your free time with Ranger?” he asked.

Huh! He had an issue with who she hung out with?

“I shouldn’t think so. I’ll be spending it with you.”

“Good.” Blaze moved lightning fast. He grabbed her by the shoulders and lowered his head until their mouths almost touched.

Hot sparks of lust tingled through her belly as his breath touched her skin, and heat coursed through her.

Blaze closed his eyes, not moving, just breathing, and standing so close she could count each thick lash.

All she’d have to do was lean forward a fraction, and she’d be able to taste him.

For a moment, the power of speech escaped her. All Eden could see was Blaze, his broad shoulders, solid arms, and bunching muscles.

He stepped her back until she was pressed against the wall, trapping her in place.

“Blaze,” she whispered against his mouth. “What’s going on?”

A half-moan, half-grunt came out of him. It sounded like he was fighting himself, wanting to move but not daring to.
