The cold air feels nice against my face.

"Think it was something you ate?" he asks.

"No."

"Been feeling bad all day?"

I shake my head. "I think I just need to lie down."

He looks at me for a moment, then draws me closer while we wait for the car.

I rest my head against him.

When we get back to The Commons, Wolf presses the button for his floor.

He doesn’t ask where I want to go.

I don’t correct him.

His apartment is dark except for the light over the stove. There’s a clean mug beside the coffee maker for me, and the piping bag I washed this afternoon is drying on a towel near the sink.

Tomorrow, I’m supposed to start bringing all of this downstairs.

Wolf takes my coat while I kick off my shoes.

"Want water?"

"Please."

He gets me a glass, then waits while I take a drink.

"I’m going to run you a bath."

"You don’t have to–"

But he’s already headed down the hall towards his bedroom. "Drink some water then go get comfortable," he tells me over his shoulder.

I take a big gulp and then set it back down on the kitchen island and follow after him down the hall.

He turns on the water and checks the temperature before reaching for the bubble bath I left beside his tub.

"This one?"

I nod.

He pours some beneath the faucet while I sit on the edge of his bed and take off my earrings.

My book is on the nightstand. My pajamas are folded where I left them this morning. There’s a hair tie beside his watch, and neither of us has bothered pretending all my things belong downstairs anymore.

Wolf comes back to the doorway.

"Water’s good. I’ll leave you alone for a bit."

"Thank you."

"Call me if you need anything," he says and the bends to kiss my forehead before leaving.

I wait until he’s gone to press my hands over my face.
