She pushes back against me, increasing the friction between us. A soft moan escapes her lips when I start to grind with a rhythm she likes.

"Harder..." she mutters against my mouth, so I increase the pressure, grinding her into the floor of my kitchen, listening to her moan against my mouth.

"Here, or in my bedroom? Tell me where you want us, Bay."

Bay slips out. Baby almost follows, but I’m already pushing my luck.

Then someone knocks.

We freeze, our mouths barely apart.

We wait as if maybe we heard that wrong. The blood pumping through my ears make it hard to be sure.

Then another knock

"Baylor? Wolf?" Ellie calls through the door. "You guys in there?"

Another voice carries into the apartment.

"Think we should come back?" Olsen asks. "Maybe they’re—"

"We’re here!" Baylor calls.

I drop my forehead against hers and laugh.

"I’m suddenly regretting how many people I know."

"Go put a shirt on."

"You weren’t complaining a minute ago."

"Wolf."

I sit back on my heels, then get up carefully and offer her my good hand. She takes it, standing close enough that I’m tempted to forget everyone outside.

She looks down at my chest.

"And wash that off."

"Anything else?"

"Yes. Let me get the door before Ellie starts calling the fire department."

She grabs a towel to wipe her cheek while I head down the hall. My ruined shirt is on the floor where I threw it. I pick it up and carry it into my bedroom as the front door opens.

"Oh, honey," Ellie says. "What happened to your hair?"

"Wolf happened."

"I heard that," I call.

"You were supposed to."

I wash the frosting off my hands and neck in my bathroom, then find a clean shirt. By the time I come back, everyone is taking turns at the kitchen sink, and Baylor is wiping the last smear off the floor.

Olsen looks up as I ease the hem of my shirt down.

"Did we interrupt anything?"
