I would have thought he was focused on teaching me. But he made a mistake in the equation he was showing me. A simple addition error. And his hand had just shifted ever so slightly lower on my back. The only thing he was focused on was how good his hand felt on me.
I shifted forward again, making my hips dig into the front of his desk, and forcing his hand lower. His fingertips slipped to the waistband of my skirt.
I stayed completely still.
He lightly traced his index finger along the fabric.
I felt my skin pebble.
And his thumb trailed slowly down my spine.
I moaned. My eyes grew round. Had I really just made that noise? Oh crap!
Mr. Halifax cleared his throat and dropped his pen.
Why had I moaned?! My stupid mouth had no control.
His hand fell from my back and he took a step away from me. “So...just like that,” he said.
“Are you sure? You don’t want to go further?” I wasn’t even sure what I was saying anymore. I pointed to the page, even though nothing I said made any sense.
He nodded. But then he immediately shook his head. He cleared his throat again and ran his fingers through his hair. “I have to go.” But he didn’t move toward the door.
“There’s nothing else you want to teach me?”
His Adam’s apple rose and fell as he stared at me.
I needed his hands on me again. It was all I could think about. I turned around, pressing my butt against the desk. All he had to do was step forward and lift me on top of it. I knew he wanted to.
I pictured him spreading my thighs with his strong hands. And leaning over top of me, pushing all his papers to the floor. I’d grab his tie and pull his lips down to mine.
Was he picturing it too?
His chest was rising and falling fast, like he was picturing every single image I was.
I wanted anything he’d give me. His fingers. His tongue. I pressed my thighs together at the thought.
His eyes dropped to my legs. And then he cleared his throat. “I have to go,” he said again. And this time he moved toward the door. “Have a good weekend, Miss Hunter.”
He walked out of his class without looking back.
I sighed. I was so freaking close. I picked up my test and stared at the equation. The one that he’d done wrong. Because he was so distracted by his hands on my skin.
He was close to giving into temptation. If I could get him to the Christmas Eve Eve party, he’d cave. I knew he would.
I tore off the last page of my test, wrote him the time and place of the party, and slid it into his desk drawer. I almost dropped his pen beside the note. But thinking better of it, I pulled my blazer on and put his pen in my pocket. He’d left it for me. As far as I was concerned, the pen was a gift. A token to remember this moment.
Now I just needed to make a Christmas Eve Eve party a thing.
Chapter 14 – Sausage Fest
Monday
“I’ve got it,” I said as I dropped my tray on the table, with what I thought was a flourish. But no one even acknowledged me. “Ahem,” I said.
Liam looked up from his turkey sandwich. “What?” he said through a mouthful of food.
“The theme of the party. I have a brilliant idea.”
