Don’t choose something because an empty space makes you uncomfortable. Don’t go looking for an answer just so you can say you finished the assignment.

If there’s something you really want, I suspect it will be considerably more inconvenient than that.

You’ll know.

Ready to move on to the next step in the reversal process?

CHAPTER 22

MERRYWEATHER

“Okay,” I whisper to myself as soon as my eyes open. “That certainly happened.”

I stare at my ceiling. For several seconds, I don’t move, because movement might disturb the very specific sequence of memories from last night currently replaying in my head.

Flora asking if I was nervous. Flora telling me she thought I was cute.

Me asking if I could kiss her.

And then—

“Oh my god.”

This does absolutely nothing to stop me from remembering what Flora’s mouth felt like, or the way her hand slid into my hair the second time she kissed me, or the fact that there was a second time.

And a third. And then a very hot and heavy fourth one against the siding of the house, while three people were outside smoking who knows what and I could hear Dani’s voice somewhere talking about—you guessed it—candy corn.

Something heavy lands directly on my stomach.

“Ow.”

I lift my head to find Aurora standing on top of me, staring at me with the particular expression of disappointment she reserves for morning when breakfast hasn’t materialized quickly enough.

“Don’t look at me like that.”

She steps on my ribs.

“I had a very good night, thank you for asking.”

One paw lands dangerously close to my boob, and for a moment I think she’s going to slap me.

“I kissed someone.”

Aurora sits and tilts her head in confusion.

“She’s very pretty.”

She sniffs my chin.

“And before you get weird about it, she knows your name. I think you’d like her.”

I stop. Actually, maybe that’s weird.
