“Anyone want a drink?” Alder asked.
“I could go for coffee,” Lydia spoke up.
“Me too,” Zann said. “And if there’s a muffin or something in there, I wouldn’t say no to that, either.”
“That’s because you missed breakfast,” Kit drawled as she dropped onto the padded bench opposite the table where they were sitting.
“How would you know? It’s not like you were there,” Aspen teased, her eyes dancing with laughter. “It was just me, Eve, Alder, the boys, and Bonnie today.”
“Busted,” Jack giggled.
“And…” Aspen’s voice trailed off as she pointed at Kit’s neck. “Is that a hickey?”
“Double-busted,” Michael cackled.
Lydia covered her smile with her hand as Kit muttered, “I hate you all.”
Aspen chuckled. “Love you too, Kit.” She pointed at Jack. “Help me get everyone coffee, and then we can figure out what we’re gonna do to pass the time while we’re sailing.”
Jack obediently jumped to his feet. “What about Truth or Dare?”
Lydia snorted. “Are we fucking twelve?”
“Two truths and a lie?” Michael offered as an alternative.
“Or, we could, you know, just sit and talk,” Zann offered.
“Oh, okay, grandma,” Jack drawled, rolling his eyes. “Should we do the crossword puzzle, too?”
“I have the New York Times’ one on my phone,” Lydia offered with a polite smile that she knew would drive him nuts. “I can download it while I still have bars.”
“Dude, it was a joke!” Jack huffed.
“Speed chess?” Kit offered.
“Oh my god, you guys are nerds,” Michael groaned.
“Strip poker?” Jack suggested, waggling his eyebrows.
Aspen laughed and shoved him toward the galley. “No.”
He threw a playful grin at her over his shoulder. “What? Afraid you’ll lose?”
Aspen rolled her eyes and shoved him again. “Nobody is getting naked!”
Lydia grinned when Eve turned to regard Aspen with a playful pout. “But I thought we were going to—”
Aspen groaned and threw Eve a pleading look. “Please don’t encourage them.”
“Encourage us!” Jack cheered, pounding his hand on the table for emphasis.
Lydia pressed her lips to Zann’s shoulder to muffle her laughter.
“You okay?” Zann murmured, her voice warm with affection and amusement as she brushed a kiss over her forehead.
Lydia nodded and smiled up at her. “Yeah.” She kissed her softly. “I’m great.”
“NO KISSING!” Michael yelled, sounding every bit like a disgusted five-year-old.
