I follow Mercer through the intersection.

My attention should be on him. Instead, half of it is on the silent phone beside me.

Because I know Callie. And if she's asking hypothetical questions about finding someone's house, there’s absolutely nothing hypothetical about it.

She knows she can't follow me home. I've proven that.

She tried a tracker.

I found it.

She knows I'm watching for her now.

Knowing Callie, that’ll just make her more determined.

My stomach sinks.

Fuck.

The problem isn't whether Chaos will try to find my house.

The problem is figuring out what the hell she'll try next.

CALLIE

Roman is hiding something.

I know this because I've spent an unreasonable amount of time studying him.

Also because I'm not stupid.

He told me to stay home.

Then he started acting weird.

Then he got annoyed when I asked why he was acting weird.

Then he told me my concern was my problem.

Which was rude.

I forgive him.

Mostly.

Okay, not really.

But I understand why he did it.

Roman doesn't like questions. Or feelings. Or people. Or apparently being cared about.

Unfortunately for him, I like all four. Especially questions.

Which brings me to my current problem.

I still don't know where he lives.
