“He loves watching Scooby.”
White vapor comes from my lips as I exhale. “Get it. We’ll leave your car here. Get it tomorrow.”
I wait as she retrieves the items and locks her car, then walk to my truck carrying a little, scruffy dog who keeps licking me.
Christ. I hope like hell none of the neighbors are awake, watching a man in a towel carry a dog back to his truck.
At least I removed the handcuff from Callie’s wrist.
After we settle into my truck, Alibi releases me enough for me to give him to Callie. She coos and rubs her nose against his. I watch her before I pull onto the street.
The two of them are fucking cute together.
Jesus Christ. I’m getting soft.
That’s a damn problem.
I close my eyes and mentally curse myself.
Her gaze bores into me.
“Don’t.” I open my eyes. “It’s not a big deal.”
“You’re giving Alibi a spare bed to sleep on.” She points at the iPad. “And you even put it on a stand and—”
“Don’t.”
She presses her lips together, barely hiding her laughter.
The dog curls deeper into the blanket. I catch a shiver and head to the closet, retrieving a blanket.
I tuck it around him. Only his face is out, his eyes sliding briefly to mine before going back to the iPad. He licks my hand before I pull it away.
“Aw.” Callie presses her hands to her chest. She looks like she’s about to combust from happiness.
I pull her closer and kiss her. Mostly to shut her up.
Then I pull back, smack her ass, and throw her over my shoulder.
Alibi looks up at me, then back at the tablet.
“Good dog. Try not to disturb us.”
Then I exit the room and carry her to my bedroom.
The dog doesn’t follow.
As soon as I set her on her feet in my bedroom, our mouths collide. Everything I’ve been holding back rushes through me, clouding my head until there’s only her and me.
Nothing else matters.
I tear at her clothes, our mouths fused and only parting long enough to pull her shirt over her head or her pants from her ankles.
She grabs my towel and, with one tug, it falls to the floor. Her hand immediately wraps around my hard cock, and I moan, desperate for her.
“I love that sound,” she whispers against my mouth.
“What sound?”
