We finally arrive at my house. I hit the garage remote and open both doors.

I roll down my window and lean out. “Pull in beside me.”

Callie looks into the garage, then at me. “Aw. You’re letting me park in the empty space?”

I already don't like her tone. “Yes.”

Her smile spreads. “It's like you were waiting for me.”

“I wasn't.”

“Roman.”

“Park the fucking car, Chaos.”

She laughs and waits until I’m parked, then pulls in beside my truck.

I climb out and look between her SUV and my truck parked side by side. Something about it looks too fucking permanent.

I close the garage door.

Callie climbs out of her SUV as Alibi launches himself against the passenger window. “Your son would like assistance.”

“He's still not my son.”

“Tell him that.”

I look through the window. Alibi stares back at me, tail moving so fast his entire body shakes.

Fuck.

I open the passenger door. He launches himself at me.

“Jesus Christ.”

I catch him against my chest before he hits the floor.

Callie grins over the roof of her SUV. “Look at you.”

“What?”

“Nothing.”

I fucking hate that word.

Alibi licks my jaw.

I turn my head. “Stop.”

He does it again.

“Control your dog.”

“Our dog.”

“Your dog.”

She walks around the back of the SUV. “Whatever helps you sleep at night, Daddy.”
