I smile.
Roman scowls.
Beck looks amused.
I continue into the kitchen and wash my new mug. Then I turn back to Beck. “Okay, Mapquest.”
His amusement disappears.
Roman's appears.
Interesting.
“Why does Roman call you Mapquest?”
Beck glares at him. “Fuck you.”
Roman crosses his arms. “Didn't say anything.”
Oh my God. This is going to be fun.
I climb onto a stool at the counter. “I have coffee, nowhere to be, and an unhealthy amount of determination.”
“I've noticed,” Roman mutters.
I ignore him.
“Come on. I've been waiting forever for this.”
“You've known me for approximately twenty-four hours,” Beck says.
“Exactly. Forever.”
Roman snorts.
I turn toward him. “Don't get too comfortable, Hot Lips. You're next.”
His amusement disappears.
Beck smiles.
Now we're getting somewhere.
I point between them. “Here's what I know. Roman calls you Mapquest. You call him Hot Lips. And apparently Hot Lips involves a woman.”
Roman's head snaps toward Beck. “You told her that?”
Beck shrugs. “She asked.”
“You could've said nothing.”
“I did. Then she kept asking.”
I smile sweetly. “Persistence is one of my best qualities.”
Roman mutters something that sounds suspiciously like, “Fucking nightmare.”
I sip my coffee. “Thank you.”
