“Could you hurt him?”

Her mouth curves. “Yes.”

Something warm and dark curls low in my stomach.

Smoke notices my expression. “Oh, for fuck's sake.”

“What?”

“Nothing.”

“Don’t say nothing when it's clearly fucking something.”

Callie starts laughing.

I glare at both of them.

Then my attention returns to the safe with the missing flash drive.

Someone took it.

And if Mercer doesn't have it yet, he's still looking.

My gaze moves to Callie. Mercer notices people. And now he's noticed her.

Fuck.

I pull out my phone again. “We're getting out of here.”

Smoke opens his mouth.

I point at him. “This isn't about me ordering you around. This is about someone potentially searching your fucking safe without you knowing. You can be pissed about it somewhere that isn't compromised.”

His mouth closes.

Callie looks at me.

“What?”

A tiny smile appears. “That was better.”

I huff out an irritated sigh.

“Your tone was good.”

“Get in the fucking truck, Chaos.”

Her smile gets bigger.
