The gate opens. Caelen. Perfect timing. He takes one look at us. "What happened?"

"Nothing." Rhyven answers. I almost laugh. Caelen looks at me.

"He was being weird."

"I am not."

"She said you're being weird?" Caelen grins

"Yes." Rhyven answers.

Caelen steps farther inside."Then you're being weird."

Rhyven looks deeply irritated. Excellent. Caelen tosses his coat onto the railing. "We need to talk about tomorrow."

I groan. "No."

"You haven't heard my plan."

"That sentence guarantees I hate it."

"You're staying in the central complex."

I stare. "No."

"There it is."

"Caelen." I warn.

"No isolated corridors. No solo study rooms. No patrol."

"My patrol is scheduled."

"Not anymore."

"You changed it?"

"Yes."

Anger flashes. "Change it back."

"No."

I look toward Rhyven. Surely he doesn't immediately agree.

"She's right." He mutters somehow.

Caelen turns. "What?"

"You can't rearrange her entire day because of a theory."

"Watch me."

"Already did."
