“Okay, then you just let me know when you get tired, and we’ll come home. Is London done packing yet?”
“I thought so, but maybe she changed her mind on her outfit.”
I start up the stairs to see what the holdup is when London comes out of her room, looking a little green.
“Daddy, I don’t feel so good.” Right as the words come out, my poor baby throws up everywhere in the hallway.
“Oh, shit. Okay, baby.” I quickly pick her up and race into the bathroom before she can start again. I hold her hair back as she expels everything from her body and then some.
Kylie comes in a few minutes later with a wet washcloth and a small cup of water. “I got the hallway cleaned up and disinfected, and I also texted your parents to let them know what’s going on.”
“Thanks, Ladybug.” I take the cloth and wipe London’s forehead and mouth while she cuddles into my lap on the bathroom floor. I run my hand down her hair, prepared to sit here for however long it takes for my girl to feel better.
“Can I still go to Gramma and Gramp’s?” Luddy asks, her voice scratchy.
“Aw, probably not, baby.”
“But I’m feeling much better,” she cries.
I hug her closer, my heart breaking at her disappointment. Kylie rubs Luddy’s back, trying to soothe her. “What if the three of us built a fort in the living room and had a movie night here? Then we can call Gramma and Gramps tomorrow to plan another night to go to their house.”
I know she’s still feeling pretty crummy because she accepts Kylie’s offer with a quiet, “Okay.”
“Do you think you’re ready to move or should we stay here for a little longer?” I ask.
“I’m ready. Will you carry me, Daddy?”
“Always.”

“Is she out?” Kylie murmurs.
I collapse onto the couch next to her with a weary sigh. “Finally.”
Kylie must’ve put all the blankets away while I was trying to get Luddy settled into bed. We made it halfway through the movie before she had another long round of being sick. It wore her out completely. She’s passed out in her bed now, and I hope she stays that way. I hate seeing her like this.
Scrubbing my palms across my face, I groan. “I have no idea why her being sick drains me, but I feel like I could sleep for three days.”
Kylie starts to massage my neck. “Because you’re extra worried about her when she’s not feeling good.”
“Thank you for all your help tonight. I had no clue how much harder it is to take care of a sick kid by myself until I had you anticipating every need.”
“I was happy to do it, although I felt a little useless while she was getting sick.”
“Same. It’s the worst feeling in the world.” I adjust my position on the couch, pulling Kylie into my chest. I love the way she snuggles into me, wrapping her leg around my thigh.
Her silky hair slides through my fingers, reminding me that we were supposed to go out tonight. “I’m sorry we weren’t able to go dancing. Or have the whole night to ourselves.”
“I don’t mind. I hate that Luddy was sick, but as long as we’re together, I don’t care what we’re doing.”
I press a kiss to the top of her head. “You know…I could use a shower after being around all those germs.”
She lifts her head, a sexy smirk curling the corner of her mouth. “Shall I help you get clean since you’re exhausted?”
“Fuck yes.” I sit up quickly, pulling Kylie to her feet and leading her back to our bedroom. She giggles at my enthusiastic response.
I spin her around once we’re in the bathroom, closing the door by pushing her against it and kissing the hell out of her. The excitement of getting my woman naked has renewed my fading energy. I yank her shirt off and pop the band on her bra with a flick of my fingers. The second her tits are free, my mouth is on them. I revel in the gasp that falls from her when I suck her nipple hard.
