Okay… now I'm intrigued.

Me:

That's not a location.

Wyatt:

It's better than a location. It's a vibe.

Me:

I need more than a vibe, Wyatt.

Wyatt:

7pm. Dress like nobody important is going to see you.

I read that last message twice.

He hasn't told me where we're going, but apparently, there's going to be sand, and I don't need to dress up. Which is fine. I can work with that.

I just wish I knew what he had planned.

At least we're not meeting at the rink or going to some team event where Cole can spend the entire evening smirking at us. And I won't have to worry about running into my dad or anyone from his coaching staff.

It'll just be the two of us.

The thought makes me smile as I head to my bedroom.

I pull open my closet and stare at my clothes for a ridiculous amount of time, considering Wyatt has basically told me to wear whatever I want.

Eventually, I settle on jeans and a plain T-shirt. Nothing fancy, but I still change my shirt twice before deciding the first one was fine.

By the time I'm ready, I've somehow spent almost an hour getting dressed.

I grab my phone and turn to leave, then spot Wyatt's hoodie hanging over the back of my desk chair.

He still hasn't asked for it back. We've been texting for three days, and he hasn't mentioned it once.

I pick it up and pull it on over my shirt.

On my way out, I catch my reflection in the mirror and stop. The hoodie is a little too big, the sleeves hanging past my wrists, and my hair has picked up some static from pulling it over my head.

I smooth it down, then tug the sleeves over my hands.

It's probably going to be cold by the water. That's a perfectly good reason to wear it.

And if I happen to like wearing something that belongs to Wyatt, well, nobody needs to know that.

I grab my bag, head downstairs, and step out of the elevator.

Wyatt:

I’m here.

I step through the lobby doors and spot Wyatt leaning against his Porsche, scrolling through his phone.

He looks up when he sees me, slips his phone into his pocket, and smiles. “Hey, Peachy.”
