This was where Jekyll was forced to step in.
“Yeah, she was.”
Ace spun around, and Cross sidled up next to him.
“I got a good fucking look with her sitting in our clubhouse. I didn’t see a mark on her.” Cross pointed to the wall.
Jekyll shook his head. “Get up close enough, you can see past the caked on makeup and get a full view of the handprint on her cheek.” He cocked his brow. “I did.”
In fairness, with the exception of Cue and himself, no one had gotten close to Eden. But he saw it.
“So you’re backing this move?” Ace pointed at Cue.
Jekyll wouldn’t condone it but he wouldn’t condemn it either.
“Just telling you what I saw.”
“Alright, fucking fine. Let’s say Cue over here wants to play fucking knight in shining armor.” Ace jerked his head to the brother. “Then you quietly get her outta there and you take her somewhere safe. You do not bring her back here.”
“Where could I take her that the Satan’s wouldn’t find her, ’cause at this point…they’d find her.” Cue countered.
Gent raised his hand. “Can someone explain why another club’s whore is our responsibility? Did we start a new rescue program I don’t know about?”
“Gent,” Ace warned.
Cross shook his head, with his eyes pinned on Cue. “You think you rescued her, Cue? After that stunt, they’re gonna make her suffer for it.”
Cue folded his arms, remaining extremely calm. It was as if he hadn’t just blown up the clubhouse by bringing in Eden. He had to give the brother credit for standing up for his actions, especially going up against Ace and Cross.
“Not if she’s here.”
The room was drowned in silence.
“This could work for us,” Ghost said.
Every other member got quiet.
“This I gotta fucking hear.” Ace scoffed. “How do you figure?”
Ghost drew in a breath. “We’ve all taken a meeting at Satan’s. We know how they run it. Hell” —He snorted— “Eden was at most of them, right? Serving drinks while Griggs was laying out deals, talking transports, giving up storage locations.”
Ace stilled, sharing a look with Cross.
“And you think she was paying attention?” Wraith scoffed.
Ghost glanced back at the enforcer and smirked. “Cleo paid attention, right? She knew way more than any of us suspected. It’s like Inez said; we got too comfortable with her. Just like Satan’s with all the girls who hang there. Griggs wasn’t doing anything behind closed doors. I bet you Eden knows a lot.”
Interesting.
“And you think she’ll just give them up?” Cross asked.
“There’s no fucking way,” Hyde blurted, pointing to the door. “She’s with the Satan’s. Not gonna turn her back on them.”
The brother was making a good point. But…They had something to hold over Eden’s head.
Jekyll pushed off the wall and stood next to Cue. “Imogene said Eden appreciated Cue trying to help her. Let’s use that.”
Oak scoffed. “What makes you think she’ll even stay after fucking Casanova over there” —he gestured to Cue— “Kidnapped her. Or did you forget that part, Jek?”
