“Yeah, killing someone is unforgiveable.”

Jekyll shook his head, feeling the weight of Ghost’s guilt. Brother, you didn’t kill him. There weren’t secrets among the brothers. They all knew everything, especially when it came to their pasts. Some were darker than others. Some carried pain that would probably stick with them forever. Ghost was one of those people.

Jekyll pushed off the wall, making his way to the open window. He’d smelled the scent earlier, but from his view hadn’t seen Imogene partake.

“Getting my girl high?”

Imogene and Ghost both glanced over their shoulders.

Ghost laughed. “I was trying, man, but she refused.”

“Maybe another time.” Imogene said.

Ghost waved his finger. “Jek, you heard that, right? I’m holding you to that. Come on my roof. Penny’s is shit.” He gestured to the window. “You first.”

Imogene turned, carefully climbing toward the window. When she was in arms’ reach, he grabbed her hands and guided her inside.

“Hi.”

Jekyll tucked her into his side, pressing his lips to her head. He waited for Ghost to come in and close the window before all three retreated to the living room. Ghost passed them, heading into the kitchen.

“You’re welcome, Ghost!” Penny shouted and smiled over at Imogene. “There’s plenty of food if you guys are hungry, but I suggest you get it now.”

Jekyll rubbed her back. “Wanna eat?”

She shook her head.

Hyde glanced between them. “There’s a spare room if you guys want to crash.”

“What do you want to do? Stay here, back to your apartment, or go home?”

Jekyll wanted nothing more than to take her back to Killcreek. But this would be her call. The ride was long, it was getting cooler out, and she’d been through a lot tonight.

She glanced up, and her eyes widened. “Home? Like your house?”

“Yeah, home.” He didn’t make it a big deal, but it was a statement.

“I think I want to go home.”

“Long ride. Are you up for that?” Jekyll wasn’t trying to talk her out of it. He wanted her to be sure.

“Yes.” It was the first semblance of a smile he’d seen since they’d arrived at the X-Lounge.

“Alright.” He looked over at Hyde. “We’ll see you later.”

Hyde nodded.

Ghost walked into the living room as they headed toward the door. Jekyll opened it, and Imogene gave a short wave then stepped onto the porch. He was closing the door when he locked eyes with Ghost.

“Thanks, brother.”

Ghost flattened his lips and slowly lowered his chin.

They made it back to Killcreek in record time. But it felt long as hell. By the time they reached the clubhouse, most of the members were back. Dozens of bikes lined the side of the house. Jekyll didn’t bother stopping in. There would be a debriefing with every member. Again, no secrets in the MC. But it could wait.

Jekyll had one priority. Her.
