“We’ll see you on Friday,” Cross said and walked across the room, leading Killcreek through the back hallway.

Jekyll was last in line, glaring at Griggs before disappearing behind the wall. He gave in to a smile, knowing they scared the shit out of the Satans and thrust them into panic mode.

No one spoke until they walked outside, but he noticed Cue glancing into the open doors in the hallway. He wasn’t making himself particularly obvious, but knowing a little backstory with the Satan’s club whore, Jekyll suspected that was who he was looking for.

They walked out into the yard, and a prospect rushed across the ragged lawn. He was the only person in the back.

“Hey, brothers.” He waved, and Jekyll narrowed his gaze.

It should’ve been expected that with Satan’s lack of leadership, they’d recruit anyone to prospect. This guy was proof of that.

“Who the fuck is that?”

Cross snorted, grabbing his shoulder. “I like to think of him as our personal snitch. He doesn’t fully understand that not all clubs are friends.”

“He’s the guy I was telling you about,” Ghost said.

The prospect couldn’t have been more than twenty-one. He smiled, glancing over the brothers.

“How’s it going?” Ghost asked.

“Great, man. We got a big party tonight. I’m in charge of the kegs.” He rushed forward. “You guys coming back later?”

What the fuck? Killcreek was cordial, at best, with Satan’s for business. But partying with these assholes? Not on your fucking life!

“Maybe,” Cross said, fully knowing they wouldn’t be. Obviously the club had their reasons for keeping ties with the prospect. But Jekyll couldn’t see the purpose.

“Got a full house tonight?” Cue asked.

“Yeah.”

“Lots of girls?”

The prospect’s smile widened, and he puffed out his chest. “Yeah.”

Cue nodded. “Eden gonna be here?”

His smile faltered. “I don’t think so.”

“Why’s that?” Cue snapped.

Settle, brother.

He shrugged. “She hasn’t been around much.”

Jekyll glanced over at Cue, and his jaw squared. He’d only gotten a brief rundown, but clearly it was affecting Cue. Jekyll expected him to dig deeper. Cue didn’t. But he wanted to. I got this, brother.

Jekyll stepped closer. “You’ve seen her though, right?”

“Oh yeah, saw her last week. She was picking something up. Had her dog with her.” He laughed. “She doesn’t go anywhere without him.”

“She here now?” Jekyll asked and could feel the weight of Cue’s stare.

“No. Not sure she stays here much anymore.”

He glanced over at Cue and saw the relief flash over his features. His tension eased, but he didn’t say a word. Jekyll had no clue what this girl meant to Cue, but she meant something.

They walked back to their bikes in silence. Once they were situated, Cross looked over at Cue, who was staring across the lot.
